Thediamonds don't expire. If you feel 130% is good enough - login on the homepage, you don't need to be ingame for it. Buy them and you will get them. If there is any technical difficutly with that, support is glad to help. Nothing is stopping you from taking part in the *diamond offer*. Plan ahead. The current sale lasts until Nov 6th anyway.
Beren's announcement clearly says that the diamond sale is only until Nov 1st, today, and ends approximately 10 hours from now. Might want to fix that. I don't have a lot of faith on buying diamonds for a server that is unplayable right now. I did, because I knew that GF wouldn't repeat it for a million years. If the diamond sale lasts until the date you mentioned, perhaps people would stop being "stubborn" and stop complaining (thanks for that, by the way, real mature of you) if they knew that the diamond sale lasts longer than advertised.

Gameforge's handling of this situation is simply appalling. As I mentioned in another thread, I'm trying to throw my money at you and you're not taking it, or refusing to take it. There have been no updates as to how far along, what you've done, what you're trying to do. the servers have randomly rebooted today and there's been no forewarning, no "hey, we're going to try this and that". Nothing. Simply amazing that this sort of rampant stupidity of your staff members hasn't shut you down yet.

This is not being "stubborn" as you so aptly put it, it's being cautious about buying items/currency for a game going down faster than my ex-girlfriend. It's being not stupid and spending money on something you can't play.

Okay, first of all we have a misunderstanding, which I also might take on me because of poor or rather implicit wording.

The itemshop offers except for the Happy Hour ofc, last until Nov 6th.
The diamond sale of 130% lasts until the time on the homepage and the announcement post.
Still there is nothing from stopping anyone buying diamonds because that works.
You are not missing anything from a sale point of view because there are problems on two servers, except the daily cards, that was my point.

I will be asking about repeating the daily card sale for Reni and Osha.

Clearer? Hopefully :)

The "stubbornness" part i was refering to is the "I won't be buying dias until my server is fixed so go repeat the diamond sale" part. Because I find that illogical, and as I wrote, stubborn, for the reason, that buying diamonds does work. With the 130% offer being live and working there is nothing stopping you from taking this offer but oneself. Yes, there are tech problems, it sucks (IT probably hates me by now), I totally agree, but the "diamond issue" is a non-issue. Sorry.

Communication:
We have notifed IT muitiple times about the problems and they were and still are working on it. Which has been communicated pretty clearly.

I personally was on both servers last night, and this evening (seen from my timezone) and made announcements via broadcasts IN THE GAME- Moonlight posted an update in the thread, and i've been trying last night until 6am my time together with Salvaje from Support after the event on Palenque to help solve the problems in some way, without luck for those who had "Loading Character Data" though. I also notified IT *again* then during the day since the "Loading Character Data" problem seemed to get worse and they restarted both servers. Again, I went to both Reni and Osha and made a broadcast with a 20-15minute warning INGAME that the servers would both be rebooted at 19:00 DE / 2pm East / 11am Pacific (was probably 18Minutes left until I got the message out on the first server, then switched to the other, made the broadcast too, and it was 15-12 minutes left on the second.). So if you're trying to tell me the restarts were without warning you are wrong because I did them (the warnings, not the restart) myself.

The restart fixed "Loading Character Data" for a lot of people but simply not for everyone, so there is no real need for another update forum post because the situation has only changed a tiny bit - all in all, Mikas post of the linked thread stands: "We'll inform you when it's fixed". Or alternatively, have major news for you regarding the issue. I'm certainly not gonna post twitter-like 5min updates of everything we've tried and a lot of stuff is and will simply be internal and you will only get to see and be informed about (expected) results.

So please, think before you just simply bash - or at least, ask around. Thank you.

Borella: I could quintuple my posting size by sugarcoating them, but I rather tend to tell like it is. I'm a tech guy myself and not much into marketing-like style, so that's simply how I am. If you are expecting pinkponyfluffytext for everything just because someone moderates a forum or is a GM (I hopefully won't be "alone" for long anymore ;-)), you clearly got the wrong one with me, yes. And if you have any other issues with me except for my style of posting feel free to write me a PM, or just hop on IRC and /query SaitoHajime. :) (btw i usually post posts like the previous one in this thread as disabled and ask around in the team or even Mika and only post it like they are if they are fine with it) Same for you: "So please, think before you just simply bash - or at least, ask around. Thank you."

Sorry Borella. Earlier post wasn't about you. Yes, I agree people should be able to whine as much as they want. Why that is curtailed forcefully when those people r actually showing they want to play the game seems counterproductive. And no, Cike, u said do u want the information handed out on a silver platter? Go where the information is. Now ur saying it was handed out on a silver platter. You should have a great future in politics. :)

what i meant by that was there is no reason to QQ because either a) the info you got handed to you was unsatisfactory, or b) you never bothered to look for the information...just because the info that was handed to you was, in your opinion, unsatisfactory, and you made no effort to even learn more, you have no right to complain imo.

and no, no politics, i hate people too much...

also, i never said people should not be able to QQ incessantly, i think they shouldn't choose to because it just makes them look like needy brats, and is, all in all, very annoying...

 Nice nice nice!! This is it. That's what we're looking for as far as updates!

Please keep it up, this level of detail every few hours. Say "we tried resetting the servers, swapping the red wires for the blue ones, eating buggars, and doing a rain dance" if you have to. Just keep it coming! People want to hear what effort is being made. It helps settle the whiney ones settle down when they see that efforts are being made, it helps preserve the player base, and its just plain good customer service. Otherwise people tend to think the game is not getting the TLC it needs and money would be better spent elsewhere. :fie:

ok ok i understand that you don't have to be in game and the buy diamond interface function works... i think the main point people are trying to make is like this. If you are waiting to see if the insurance company is gonna total your car after a wreck. One would logically refrain from purchasing new seat covers and floor mats for the car before they hear from them.... What it boils down to is many peeps have lost confidence in the game as a whole and that is reflecting in how a lot of people are spending on the game. :blackeye: don't wait to get told twice

some people are missing the point,
its like why pay for a product that does not work,

we spend money on ROM for entertainment, and when it does NOT WORK as intended, why spend

i know i know, we are not incline to spend, yes its our choice, but COME ON MAN..

so, you go to wal-mart, and there is always that broken item at the back of the shelf. you(the consumer) choose to buy the broken item, and then here you are, coming to customer service complaining that the item doesn't work...

its not complaining, its bringing the issues onto the forums and wait patiently for some kind of response....

some people are just tired of the same mistakes year after year, but yea i guess we cant blame gameforge, since the costumer support or whomever is taking charge of ROM always changes every freaking year, so there seems to be no stable group able to run ROM smoothly,

but yea yea, its due to human errors, we cant always be perfect or do every action perfectly, unless we use DIYCE lol :)

DIYCE

where's zid? some1 said diyce...

also, the playerbase is not innocent in this either...buying dias is essentially saying "i support you, gameforge, keep on doing what you are doing"...if you don't like the product, don't buy it is my point...

Jguy: I already said I wouldn't do twitter-style updates (in the forum). I might do that on IRC to get instant feedback and some input to judge from. But when I "announce" something, I'd rather not change it every 10 Minutes, especially when the situation before has been "working-not working-working-not working". See the other thread by now.

Heh, I saw you on Artemis earlier explaining why siege wasn't working properly for those paired off against guilds on Osha or Reni.

I don't pay for a broken product, I pay for a product that can be broken but can also be fixed.
Doesn't mean Im not gonna get aggravated and wanna let off a lil steam while said product is in the process of being worked on though.

I'm human. Go figure.

Actually, we spend money on RoM to get Diamonds & they're working as intended just fine!

And if we did not spend does the game stay running?

When we spend our money on a product darn right we are gonna have expectancies of a return. Hence in this situation a working product.

But I do have more faith in the new team and see a lot of effort from them, the thing I don't think this new team has any grasp of is the
beating that most of us have endured because we enjoy this game. People like Borella, Cike, RustyX, Zidlef, and many more that do actually post helpful and useful information, and are reasons that this game is still running and active. I personally have experienced being called a liar by staff, bashed by them, and then band because they did not appreciate me defending myself.

I really find Borella's post amusing about us that keep spending even thou we complain about the issues.

So a good portion of the community has had to go through these constant issues and problems for years n years, the switching of the staff, switching of game companies, loss of items ( spend Money )....and after it is this repetitive I am even confused by my own decisions to continue to support this type of lousy operations and product handling.

I am rambling but I will say that those of us that have been playing for years have endured a ton o crap to the point we know every patch there will be major issues ( makes think the people running the game are not very bright you got that Saito????? ).... Maybe Saito instead of freakin BASHING us you should be thankful somewhat that we have stuck around and spent tons of our freakn hard earned cash so that you can have a freakn Job. So SEEING A GM BASH PLAYERS IS SO PROFESSIONAL SERIOUSLY. That one GM ThePitBull actually gave a good many of us something to HOPE for but then after we see the action we can only loos faith again.

Then you really shouldn't be a GM that has to manage the community. Go be a tech guy. The community needs managers that actually know how to treat the playerbase, not ones that belittle, patronize, or insult them like you do. There's a big difference between "being blunt" and being an arse.

Firstly, got to love when the newly appointed GM is talking to the playerbase like they're children.
Well, if you start acting like adults, then perhaps Saito will treat you as adults.

I see. If you work for GF in any capacity, you must always be politically correct, wear kid gloves, and always be respectful to those who insult you and the company you work for.

If you don't work for GF, you can say anything you want about those who do, the company, and make all sorts of wild, ignorant statements.

Double standard much, Borella?
