@CammoXD: I have not the slightest idea what happened to your guild since I don't even know which guild you are in.
And yes your post got removed (not even by me btw) for insults and mentioning the illegal server(s), I rephrased your post+the complaint about the removal in a single sentence, I didnt make an entire fullquote of the deleted post with that, obviously it's hard to grasp why a post that has both insults and the private servers in it gets removed on the OFFICIAL forums of the game? ...
I have to agree with CammoXD, Not 100% sure what he wrote but after playing with him for many years and thrashing out endgame content with him and the rest of the AU guild it was management that killed this game for me.
Overnight without warning the server was transferred from Australian soil to America, Gameforge wouldnt even admit that the server was transferred for weeks, instead trying to lay the blame on player internet connection or PC.
You might not like it but Gameforge single handedly pushed every player on the Au server off to that illegal copied versio, sure some of us stuck around thinking things would improve but here were are almost a year later and NOTHING has changed.

You couldnt even throw us a bone and add us the the US siege roster, made many empty promises. Some of us have thousands of dollars invested into a game that of course is free to play but lets be honest if you want to be endgame and push content you have to spend money on it.

What did I get for my years of time and money... nothing you may aswell have closed the server entirely.

Tried that server that shouldnt be named, its boring as... basically rom for dummies, wheres the challenge in running new content like it was last chapters content in regard to your level? and it only gets easier from there...... the only thing it had going for it was not having to spend months or years getting a toon up to the equivalent to what i had on the Au server.

And no i wont start again on another server, I want the toons I built and paid for transferred. Levelings one thing, but Im not spending the cash to amass the 300mil+ tp i have on my main toon.
Everybody with 2 brain cells can come into the forums and make up a story within 10 minutes about how they got banned for nothing.
Everybody with 0 functional brain cells will jump on any good story and simply start bashing either us Mods, the Support or GF per se.

i don't see what the title of the thread has to do with anything...if we changing threads to not scare new players away, you might want to remove entire parts of the forum, as they are just full of QQ...

when i try a new game, i don't really make a final decision on the game until i have played it...i never go to forums to decide whether i would like the game or not...
my r/p can outdps r/m. your name is stupid.

There is a difference between qqing and scaring away a new player a new players unless its they first mmo will know all games have qqing but a post obviously saying something like the game is dying will put them off.

Agreed. Imo, this game needs a distinction. Every game advertises some special thing that distinguishes them from other games. The ones that don't, at least have beautiful graphics, or constantly update their existing graphic engines to make sure that the game's graphics looks top notch.

RoM is both sitting in ancient graphics, and has nothing that distinguishes it from other games. A guildie of mine once joked that "You could almost count the pixels!", and, like the old joke about one shotting someone with combo throw, nobody is laughing now.

And I do think it would make a difference. Using Aslan Valley as an example, how would you feel, if it could look like this?

I have to say that honestly the graphics don't really make or break a game for me. I've never had an issue with the way rom looks.
Certain issue do need to be addressed, line of sight, and that annoying 'target too far' when it's biting your nose for two, but graphics can live with.

if the graphics looked like that, rom would lose 90% of its player base (low spec computers). It may gain them all back though.

I'd play RoM using any graphics setting if the memory leaks were to go by the wayside. I think this is the only game that I've played where viewing distance was a huge factor in crashing regardless of other graphic settings. If I remember, part of the problem was that later content, Dalanis+ had really horrible 3d models that didn't close up all the way.

But yeah, if the game looked just like polygons & it would run w/o crashing, I'd just play it that way. :)

Back to topic: Website traffic.

GF needs to invest in advertising and NOT the current advertising model of sending emails to players of 1 game to try out another game.

-No advertising
-Recycled sales, along with playerbase opinions/suggestions of sales being ignored.
-Duping/hacking incident
-Unfixed client crashes
-Diamond sales. Too expensive. General cost to progress in the game is "too damn high!"
-Repeatedly broken content. Seemingly untested prior to each release. Just way too many bugs/glitches/errors to have gone through a QA test.
-Siege War, in general. Crashes/bugs/exploits, "Beta" (for 4+ years now?) feature, general instability and the recent time change making it inconvenient for any East/West coast to join.
-Support. For years under different management entities was simply poor quality, slow responding, and generally unhelpful. Ticket system in general was nonsensical. Example: Inquire about your ticket, get moved to the back of the ticket queue.

Want to know why website traffic lacks? All of the above. No one recommends this game anymore. Quite frankly, not worth spending money on.

Like someone stated earlier, people who stayed are either diehard fans of the game (lol?), or have no where better to go (possible due to being f2p, luckily for them, and this game, just "playing" is free. Actual gear and character progression through upper level content is time consuming or expensive...or both.)

Personal anecdote: I gave this game a good few years out of my life, learning the game, meeting people, then progressing through content to becoming one of the top geared/(in)famous players on server, server/US first clears, 6 manning (and less) the current end game content. I played through, with, and against, some of this game's best. In the end, poor quality and management ended it for me. Things done now, are honestly too little, too late. Years late.

I've moved on to WoW (up until recently...enlisting in Navy so been taking a break from gaming in general) and honestly, the only complaint I've had was "theres too many people here, too much lag." Which...is a good thing. Lag in rom = im zoomed in first person view and my fps is randomly dropping....and crash. This game needs a rework, from top to bottom. Did you guys know this game pulls in and loads sound files from instances you probably havent been to since ch2, ch3? Theres so many errors that happen in this game, its ridiculous. Sound errors...the API itself is just terrible. Not to mention too vulnerable to tampering.

The developers knew how to make a game work, but not make a game work efficiently. The publisher(s) knew how to make the game run, but not efficiently keep the game running. No quality.

Website traffic? Thats only the tip of the iceberg on this mountain of decline.
and, like the old joke about one shotting someone with combo throw, nobody is laughing now.
I remember that. Ironically, said person could not do the very thing they claimed. And not for lack of trying.
