It only goes up to 70 now I believe but most recipes after that drop off mysterious bags anyway and are readily available in either the area with that level monster or from the AH

Reason being they changed the mini games to be of level instead of stuck at lvl 50 such as getting Hero's Recipe for alch out of Goblin Games.

No real new blood in the game, so no one is running the pre level 50 stuff enough to get extras to sell....cause you know the game is dying and all. Which all your good alch recipes are pretty much lvl 47 and under. So run NoM, FA, Barren Caves, Ancient Ruins of Sathkur ( final room ).
Most of the recipes will also drop of certain mobs near the level of the recipes in the pre 50 areas, just no list of exactly which mobs drop what recipes. But if I remember correctly it used to be if a mob drops a rune for a specific craft then you have a good chance that it also drops recipes for that craft. If it drops blend runes then it will usually also drop an alchemy recipe along with other recipes as well.

I ran into this problem when crafting festival hit, was gonna get a 75 crafter in everything, but found out that my alch and cook had to stay as that way... cause no way I woulda gotten the recipes again

Well don't forget, you can't really pick up low level recipes if you are level 82/82. I farm with my lower level alts and get a lot of recipes all over the place and cards. Use the appropriate level for the appropriate zone and you will have more chance of getting them. Hope it helps

it takes a long, long time to get some recipes, and I've found it's usually dumb luck when you do(farm elites for weeks, kill 1 regular quest mobs and it drops...>.>)

what I do is I tell new players in my guild(s) that I am looking for a specific recipe and just by looking out for it, they make a quick bit of gold. pay full price or with pots and you know the money goes to good use....
