Lag Spikes in game

My screen keeps freezing in game once every 4-5 seconds since 2 days ago, whether in siege or not. Is anyone else having this issue? I live on the west coast, so it is probably not the same lag issues as on the east coast. Ping is usually fine. Just that FPS keeps dropping to 0...

I get this issue sometimes usually near the end of siege if there's a million towers, but never as soon as I log on, and never in open world/instances too.

Just got done hitting the proverbial wall of lag deaths, and reset my router and computer. Updates finished, reset again, and now lag is gone it seems, for now. If it comes back, I'll be here complaining about it

Same issue here, today. Killed couple guildies by lagging when I was supposed to be DPSing, and lag-disconnected in GG. Reboot did not fix it, at least not for long. Might be Verizon issue again (I am in Maryland on Verizon FIOS).

Network access overall seems to be reasonably fast, just ROM is laggy today.

Oh, and people who have more than 3 classes are clinically insane.

I'll try resetting router and cable, you just unplug it, wait for a min, then plug it back in right? What do you mean reset the computer? Did you reinstall the game?

Yeah, do a power cycle to the modem and the router (unplug, count to 15, plug back in modem, let the lights all go back to normal, then plug in the router, let the lights go back to normal) then turn the computer off, count to 10 slowly, and then turn it back on. Should help clear up some issues for you with luck. If not, then it is in fact something more and is going to suck for you.

The datacenters are bad, and they should feel bad.

Those of you doing a full power cycle on all your equipment are wasting your time. The issue is at vaultnetworks yet again.
All you did was establish a new connection to the servers which was slightly better than what you had before.
Last night was horrible, over 15% of the data being sent through vaultnetworks was flat out lost. Which is why you would get 25k-500k ping and eventually 0 ping.
Even this morning vaultnetworks is still showing a good 5% data loss. Unfortunately we are not the customers of the data center, gameforge is and they need to report this issue... if they even care about it.
A real sysadmin knows how to change the time.
If you make the same mistake while trying to make up for the previous one, you are doing something wrong.

As much as I'd love to say I offer consulting services, the scope of things broken is too large.

I have no ping issues though. My ping stays constant. My screen just freezes.

Then that is a different issue entirely

It's still a vaultnetwork issue.

Yay. These are the longest loading screens I've ever had.

Worst part is that we are NA rom. Our people would have to forward it to the people that can do something, EU. Which, I don't think they would do anything, anyway.

Anyone complaining here, please use

http://www.hostmycalls.com/tools/

And set it up for an hour. If something seems wrong, set it for a 24h afterwards.

Also http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/…450?page=29#573

Wow had a problem awhile ago, but looks like they actually contacted the ISP to see if they were aware of any problems.

I'm not sure how to feel. I mean its WoW so it has more resources.

Also, rom. from a non verizon fios;

I resetted my router and cable modem. I still get lag spikes, but much more rarely now.

I think I have same issue as the post maker. The lag is a processing lag, fps drops down to 0 almost freezing the game but no ping issues and happens at any time several times a day, I usally play at night so ramdomly this is happening regardless I reset my computer or not.

Have to quit the game if this issue is re-occuring.

Too bad though.

Ok another issue that happened to me, my son got a new PS4 and i got lag for 2 weeks until it broke. Now he bought an Xbox 360, when he uses a hard wired connection like RJ45 my ping go up the ladder from 160 to 500K ping. Unplug the damn piece of crap and poof no more ping or spikes. So if you have any of those damn consoles, do what i did, take a 20 pound hammer and give it a slight nudge to fix them, it solved my ping issues. tyvm

My ping in game is usually 47ms and in ventrilo at 17ms.

I know that there is something with console systems that seem to like to eat up bandwidth. I used to t/s for an ISP for a few years and a lot of times those were the culprits. I think it is that they routinely check for updates for all the programs on it thus causing a huge demand on the Internet connection. I think it has to do with any "user-dependent" connections. This includes Satellite, Cable, 4G or other types of wireless, and microwave. DSL and Fiber optic are the only ones that are not supposed to be user dependent.

DSL/Fiber Optic has a consistent bandwidth that isn't shared across all nodes. Therefore one person on a node downloading MASSIVE amounts of data, would not affect everyone else. This is not the case with Cable/4g/see list above. As one person or device starts overusing its avail bandwidth all other devices/users suffer. Ever have a cable internet connection, and at certain hours of the night it CRAWLS!!! That is cause everyone would go to bed and fire up as many things to download they can think of... Point-to-point sharing programs are notoriously bad for these ISP services.

That would make me think these consoles might be running some update/etc at quick intervals... But I have seen that happening.

Now that that fun tidbit is said... I have DSL and have been seeing lag Spikes as well. My guess would be the DoS attacks are happening again on the servers. Which is just a shame. I had really bad ones when Pleveling today... almost bad enough for me to stop but got better an hour later. Mine seem to be spread out with a few hours between, then 20-30 min of spikes then back to normal.

Yah. Tosh was impossible.

Try minimizing firewall on router if you are with verizon FiOS.
