Bonus XP event needed

As title says, bonus xp event is needed to level up our 2nd/3rd classes for elite skills. We don't have enough quests to level up 2nd & 3rd classes so xp events are necessary.

In the last 2 years christmas time, there are so many new toons shown up some are new players and some are alts of old players. I still remember those days when everyone stay all night doing dailies to reach level cap. But this year nothing happened. You gave good IS sales for christmas can you please give 200% or higher bonus XP event also.

We aren't getting anything unless we ask so i created this thread to request a bonus xp event.

I think everyone wants a bonus xp event. Someone make it happen.

Personally I would rather NOT have one. I would rather new(er) players level up without it so they can have their skills at the appropriate levels when they hit level cap with 20k hp and whine about running Bethh and Bela.h.

It gets tiresome having new players at level cap with level 60 skills because they out leveled their skills.

Yes, please run double XP for a few days.

Right, new players is a big problem in RoM.

You'd be surprised at the number of players on Govinda who have leveled using bonus xp events and now have ZERO clue how to play their classes. Thanks but no thanks, I'd rather group with someone who learned to play under normal conditions and had to learn what skills are needed and which are not. Overall out leveling your skills, be it an experienced player or a new one, is always a bad idea.

Running XP event for 1 or 2 days won’t be a problem. It will be helpful to everyone. Previously they ran XP event for a week or more which caused new players to reach maximum level in a week.

Levelling a class by Killing mob’s is not a good option in ROM due to less XP per kill. So XP events are necessary.

I agree that New players should not rush to level up on XP events. They do not learn to play the class and they do whine about not having enough TP. It is more beneficial to them to level their toon naturally, they will be better off in the long run. However, in saying this, there are a number of classes on ROM that require TP in only 2 or 3 skills plus the elites and you can smash those skills to be able to run instances. For me this is so boring, but it is doable and not a fault of the new players but just the way ROM is designed.

If you have 3 classes leveled and would like to get rid of one of them because it was nerfed, (Example P/S), then an XP weekend is needed. Otherwise your gonna be really slow to level and lose interest or you need to fork out the cash for resets and have enough gold to buy the outrageously overpriced dogmeat, until you can get to a level that does not require any farmed items. Yes I said BUY dogmeat, because to farm them is impossible with so many "others" always there doing it.

XP event would be great to lvl 2nd or 3rd class. If i had more quests I would not want the event because of the lack of TP to lvl up skills needed.

So XP event or more quests, either would work for me.

Whilst I mostly agree with the sentiment, it does not apply to all new players.
Also, anyone reading these forums will notice that this is not unique to new players. :D

Rather than an XP event, how about questing events?

I know that GF has stated that they are done w/ the chapters release stuff, so why not have mini-events with bonus quests?

ie, Professor Plum needs to find a wrench in order to "Help" Miss Scarlet. Unfortunately, those devious bosses in NoM have stolen the wrench! and what's worse? they loan it out to their underlings too! Please go into NoM and kill everything in there so we can discover who stole this wrench! High Quest XP/TP and all of the mobs in NoM are the same level as the highest level in the group.

So.. we find the wrench, but Professor Plum has gone missing and Miss Scarlet remembers that Colonel Mustard was talking to him about some Labyrinth in the snowy zone to the north. Please help us locate Professor Plum and Colonel Mustard! High Quest XP/TP and all of the mobs in the Labyrinth are the same level as the highest level in the group.

etc.. basically a chain quest that could be done once per day while the mini-event is going on.

Rather than mindlessly killing mobs to get bonus xp/tp, make it so it's part of a quest and in an instance that auto-adjusts levels.

Unless that new player has a person around to carry them for quests in tergothen bay and up, I really doubt they will be getting to level cap in one double xp event. In that case, yes that person may not know their class. See someone that doesn't know how to play the class? Talk to them and point them to guides.

Double xp may not be the ideal situation for new players because of how stretched tp will be (if and only if they don't do all quests) but i'm sure people sitting on daily resets for their secondary and tertiary classes won't mind having those a little tp starved with no plans to use them as a primary.

--edit--
Ycavan, that's basically the title quests in a nutshell with exception to the level scaling. (varanas class hall, boards on the walls + red boards in each zone)
A real sysadmin knows how to change the time.
If you make the same mistake while trying to make up for the previous one, you are doing something wrong.

As much as I'd love to say I offer consulting services, the scope of things broken is too large.

I am torn. On one hand, I could use bonus XP. On another hand, XP events inevitably bring out the people who start the old "questing during XP events hurts your character" spiel, and I am not allowed to hit them on the head with blunt objects.

Oh, and people who have more than 3 classes are clinically insane.

I think the title of this thread is incorrect.

Here's the fix: "Bonus XP event wanted"

And, I'm with pinkhat: Having a bonus XP event will only bring out the people to whine about how a bonus XP event kills the TP gain for your character or something silly like that. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't be surprised it gets started on this thread.

personally I like exp/tp events for alt classes. The problem that I have with xp/tp events for newer players is that they begin to expect them and therefore wont level without them. We had a few new players come to the game who blatantly told us they were not going to play/quest until an xp/tp event. The last one got them used to how fast you can level on one, so they didn't want to even think about playing without one. This is a huge entitlement type of behavior, which I don't think helps the game at all.

I would say give us another zone of quests, not an exp/tp event. Make people work for it. We had a guy not play much in the last event and was like "well ill just wait till the next one". Another hit level cap in quest gear, then thought gearing would be as easy as leveling, got discouraged. I just think exp/tp events start to give people a false expectation, which when it is broken they leave.

I would like to see an xp event.
As for players that dont know how to play their class argument is moot as there are some that dont know after a couple years of playing.and in reality if you do quests at reg xp rate you only have 10% tp to xp ratio. As long as you do the quests you will have the same tp if not more. Regardless of how you leveled you will always be tp deficient.not to mention more players at lvl cap means more potential gear buyers thus causing competition between gear sellers which in turn causes prices of said gears to lower.
So bring on the xp events

Well i would prefer a TP event only. The problem is that new players will be lacking TP on an XP event. If you expect to be 82/82 in a weekend, can be done, but as many have said, they won't have a clue how to play their class. If you level the old fashion way, will take a few weeks or months, but during that time you will benefit from doing your dailies also, learn your class and skills. Which will help getting XP/TP every day, but people just want to go : I WANT IT NOW!!!!!

Sad but that is the way people think everything goes ;-(

TP EVENT PLEASE ONLY!!!!! or 100% XP and 350% TP that would be nice!!!!

I think it's about time for an XP event as well. Sure, people are going to be gimped for TP, but who cares? They can grind to get the TP later. I would love to be able to hit max level on my newer toon on Reni and then also get some levels on my secondary side as well would be nice. (Also, new forum sig and avatar for the new year for myself as well ;) First time I have ever associated myself with a guild in my sig pic too btw.)
