are you having general lag with rom? or is this simply something that seems totally random?

Last night a bunch of people on Reni, including myself, kept getting kicked off to the log in screen

There was a good 20 minute gap of connection issues to the servers, not caused by the servers themselves but by the routing completely failing.
Gameforge could probably see this if they were able to look at connection logs and saw that the server did not crash at 11:10 pm EST but there was a very large influx of disconnections followed by no reconnects for 20 minutes.

If they really cared they would kindly send that information and all of the winMTR metrics sent over the past several months to their hosting provider and say "this isn't acceptable, what is going on and what can be done about this?"

It was happening on Artemis as well last night, then the couple people I know that it happened to had issues getting back into game.

I'm guessing your random disconnects may also have something to do with the mail system being incredibly laggy at times, to the point where I cannot send or receive multi messages. Makes it very, VERY frustrating to try and create tiring stones and things like that. Although that could just be a server problem with Reni.

I've been running some trace routes again today and I noticed there's a hop in Atlanta, GA at IP 69.25.0.18 that intermittently is reporting some wicked packet loss, up to 25%, along with some 100ms+ ping times at that hop alone.

At least today the problem doesn't appear to be located at Vault Networks in Miami, FL (the hosting company) but I would imagine if you're going through that hop and the packet loss keeps up for more than 15-30 seconds it would kick you back to the login screen.

Half my guildies crashed at the same time yesterday, right before early siege.

This has been happening to some of us for almost 2 weeks now. We've send the traceroutes, ping tests, all to their designated forum and no response. So all I can say is: Welcome to the club.

I'm starting to think they'll just let the problem get worse and worse until their only excuse is "Oh, the US servers have become unstable so we're just shutting them off now" as a scapegoat to get out of hosting this (amazing) game.

My whole guild got the ye old boot at the same time Zidlef. Thing is I live in FL, so when they moved the servers here, should have better connection, right? Not even, lag is so much worse now, so much so, I wish they would move them back to California. Something needs to be done, unless it's their plan to just let this game fizzle out. Dunno what they're thinking, this game could be a real money maker for them.

If this were actually happening we'd probably have a rock solid connection 100% of the time! RoM isn't popular or important enough for the NSA to keep an eye on, unlike some other MMO's out there.

i don't know about random disconnects but starting sunday night something odd has been happening in siege.
sunday night I was in siege, mid fight everything seized up, couldn't use any skills, couldn't click anything in bag. got kicked to load screen, then login screen. came back on, couldn't reenter siege, couldn't do anything, ping was up around 300k ms and was still logged into game, people were moving around me in Heffner, then dc'd again. finally got back on but siege was over by then.

then last night in middle of siege was in battle with opponent and died, couldn't rez, couldn't log out. couldn't do anything until I untargeted the person I was fighting when I died.

normally I would chalk these kinds of siege/disconnect bugs up to whatever festival they just put in because that seems to be the pattern but seeing as how no new festival was put in at the end of the previous festival, im not sure what this is. all I can say is it is downright frustrating.

my guildies have experienced the same things I did on the same nights.

Did the random disconnects & lag issues ever get "fixed" or have people just started to put up with and accept them as normal? I honestly want to know because I've avoided playing at all for the past week or so because of it.

For me it was really becoming the straw that broke the camels back on issues.

So where are we on it?

I haven't been getting them recently, so not sure if that's just me and I'm really lucky (or because I haven't been able to play as much as normal...) or because it got fixed.
