Was thinking of coming back...

Got a 3-day ban in my new game, and figured I'd come back to try and see if things have changed for the better here. I quit at the start of 5.0 when gameforge first was taking over, as I saw the price-gouging incoming. I was actually very surprised to see this game was even still around; what with all the problems it was experiencing. Lag, siege war still beta, rampant hacking, community being ignored, any moderator worth a damn being fired... was hoping to find things changed... but I've been sitting here for approximately 3 hours patching up from 5.0.2 to 6.0.∞ (i don't even know what it's going to honestly...) but now that I've reached about 6.0.3 I'm getting slapped with:




and I'm thinking to myself... seriously... wtf? It's like they're actually TRYING to keep people from coming back or starting a new... ah well, guess I'll head elsewhere.

God forbid one would have to spend a modicum of effort to overcome a minor glitch. That is soooo hard.

On the other hand, gotta like a post that starts with "Got a 3-day ban in my new game". Keep up good work.

I lolled at the 3day ban starting of the thread too lol.

And Rusty is right, it is a minor glitch that can easily be overcome. I mean I am sure the basic "uninstall/reinstall" method would work. (I have to assume cause on all my machines I have never seen this problem). Also I would suggest an uninstall/reinstall due to the fact that one of the changes since you left is that game altering on the client side is a bannable offense and with the start of your post... it would just be best if you uninstalled, deleted the Rom folder entirely, and reinstall. This way you will start fresh and not have to worry about that possibility.


please don't think I am being snippy. I just had had someone I knew (and honestly didn't like), come back and was banned pretty quick, and I am guessing that was the reason. Just wanted to give a heads up.

Here's one: Version error, cannot find matching update.

There's at least one other floating around...

And the answer for the OP is to take a look at his own screenshot, find the update version of his client (6.0.3.2672en), then go here: Why is it Updating/Manual Patches

Find the next three patches above the .2672en patch, download and copy/move them to the main RoM folder, then run each patch in ASCENDING order, oldest to newest. It. Works. Every. Time.

Next Top Tip: Never, ever, EVER try to update your client through an entire chapter. Or two. Or three. You're far better off removing your existing game installation and downloading a fresh set of installation files.

If you don't want to use the Gameforge Launcher, go here: Manual Downloads for the 6.0.1 RoM Client Follow the instructions found there.

Download all ten (10) installation files. Temporarily deactivate your a/v program, then install the game and allow it to update itself. Use the manual patch route if it hangs at 6.0.3.2672en. Once updated, re-enable your a/v program.

Not rocket science, people.
