To be quite blunt.

The only opinion that matters is yours.

You either like the game and all it's ups and downs.

Or you don't.

Playing a game just cuz someone else likes it makes no sense. (trying one out for this reason is fine, but you still have to make your own mind up whether you like it or not.)

So log on and find out for yourself.

A few things you should consider before you return to Taborea:

-Level cap has been raised quite a bit since you left (I assume) meaning lots more questing to do and once BiS gear may now be considered obsolete.

-MASS INFLATION! Diamonds are currently hovering at around 300k a pop and equipment prices have followed suit, you will notice that what once was a fortune is now considered chump change.

-Nerfs and buffs: Plenty of changes to class combos have been made. Priest/Scout, once the king of magical PvP, has been nerfed to the point where only the skilled at cooldown management can dominate as they once did. Beware, your killer class combo may be weaker than you remember.

-Population drop-off: Runes of Magic is suffering a rather large shortage of players, as is inevitable with older MMOs. Finding groups and items you need may be harder than it was.

If you can push past those obstacles, you're golden. Welcome back to Taborea!

I'd say come back, give the game a week or two and see what you think.

I feel Zombolini hit the nail on the head with many issues that players who have been away from the game for a while WILL MOST DEFINITELY face in coming back. For some it may be a welcome challenge, but for many others the economic issues can be a real deal breaker. Not to mention all the class tinkering that's gone on.

Depends, if your characters were under level 54, restart. Coast of Opportunity can get a character to 52 with about a day of questing.

If you're 60 or higher, continue with whatever character that is.

This question always puzzles me whenever it's posted. Why would the characters you already have no longer be worth playing?

If you liked playing them, then by all means - keep playing them.

If you want to try a new class combination, you might just have to start a new character.
(I say "might" because since chapter 4, you can now have 3 classes available to you.)

yes just think of all the tp you would need to farm much less dailies because you wouldn't get it in quests.

There's no real point for it to be constricted. Nobody would force you to pick up more classes. If you feel like just because they're available you HAVE to pick up more that's a personal problem.
