While I enjoyed the ability to put up an AH sale to be able to sell my dias even when I am offline, this doesn't really make THAT much of a difference to me. I will still be able to sell my dias to other players via gifting, so meh, wuteva.

It's ok to want to help people but at least do it properly. This mean also activate the reverse transaction npc, gold for diamonds, fix the rate accordingly to respective server economy and either increase or remove both daily and server limit. Let at least those who farm honestly have the choice to buy diamonds whenever they want, not from scammers, and progress at a stable rate.

I am not posting to comment on "Why this change was implemented" or "The effect it will have on the In-Game economy", simply because I do not have either of those answers... This post is purely to remind everyone about getting "Item Shop items" to their Alt-accounts/characters using the gifting function of the item shop.

No one will have to buy Dias for each Alt account that they have, EXCEPT for certain features in the game that require owning Dias on that specific character such as "House Energy/Bag Rentals/Bank Rentals".

Even though you can't directly trade Dias to your Alt-accounts/characters via Auction House, you can still send items to your Alt-accounts/characters from both the Diamond section and Ruby section of the Item Shop via gifting (also known as the "present" button).

What this change means for your Alt-accounts/characters is that your Main account holding your Dias will have all the Rubies earned from spending those Dias on gifting items to your Alt-accounts/characters, but as I pointed out above you can still send gifts from both currency pages (Diamond/Ruby) of the Item Shop to any of your Alt-accounts/characters.

I hope that this clears up the confusion about how to get Item Shop items to your Alt-accounts/characters without having to purchase Dias for each individual account.

Majik or any GM, if you could please ask them to put House energy orbs or whatever up in Item shop for people who have alts, it would be awesome and a lot less QQ. Because that is the only issue i see people will have without being able to send or buy diamonds for alts.

We are just going back to the way it was before when i started playing the game, buy your own diamonds or gift items people want. Pretty easy and simple to do, we did it for 3 years prior to this.

Also people selling megaphone to level 1 toons?? i hope you get banned for selling to gold spammers. They probably had one person working full time against them and surely could have been put to better use.

You are F2P and DON'T WANT to spend a dime on the game, well have fun with that.

Also to the person who says if you have hundreds of million of gold it is because you hack, well NO!! i craft gear, potions, food, materials etc and sell them. I have gotten alsmost 900M on all my toons as of now total, i worked hard to get it, i spend a lot of time in the game and play it. It doesn't make someone a hacker because he has lots of gold. Yes there is accounts outhere that are shady or got them in shady ways, that is to support to have the time to go through all of them, takes time i am sure. But do not make accusation that having lots of gold means you are hacking, that is just dumb.

I sold 20 tier 5 stats at 25M each i must be hacking, No i am not, work, commitment, play and hardwork gets you gold, not standing around spamming forums or chats and complaining that others have more than you

And on the gifting thing: I almost never sent gold first, unless it was someone I knew or who was well respected. I'm an endgamer in a respected endgame guild, you're some random in a guild I've never heard of. Of course you're not going to get gold first. You're a million times more likely to scam me.

Well you trade diamonds for gold, send gold first and get your stuff, easy and simple, trust issue. Sure a level 1 comes up and sells you diamonds and ask gold first? not happenning. This is where your reputation as a player will come in handy when buying stuff have fun

heh, my main toon has an almost fully opened house as well - dread to think what they'd charge for said house energy if they ever got around to adding it - should remember to empty out all the chests she has before all her stuff gets locked

Yes, until you need house energy or want to buy backpack space on any toons where you don't have perm unlocked backpack slots. Tell me then how you get house energy or backpack/bank slots gifted with diamonds from someone else? And rubies don't count since the price of getting a 7 or 30 day unlock on backpack space is crazy high compared to diamonds. Answer: YOU CAN'T!!!

Many F2P players can begrudgingly live with having to get diamonds the old way since many top F2P players were around in the days when that was how things were done. However, until such a time as house energy and other things that can ONLY be bought with diamonds located directly on that account and not gifted are made gift-able then removing diamonds from the AH is complete and utter fail.

Like others have also said this is nothing more than a way for GF to try and squeeze some additional $$$ out of those willing to play the pay to win game and try to extract a little more out of an otherwise sinking ship.

I know I have NEVER whined about buying diamonds via the AH. If you don't like the price they're selling for then get them the gift-able way. But to completely take the AH option away from the players now under the guise of trying to combat gold spammers is complete BS. Yes I repeat: COMPLETE BS! Gold spammers existed when diamonds were not for sale in the AH. The only difference was they didn't spam in world chat since they didn't buy megas via diamonds in the AH. Gold spammers WILL still exist going forward!

The price of diamonds, gear and many times stats is related to the amount of gold available in the game and the supply of those items. The more gold that's available as a whole the higher the prices of certain items that don't have a huge supply will also go. It's simple economics!!!

The game has desperately needed an effective gold sink for a VERY LONG TIME and NOTHING short of that will bring diamond, gear and other prices down. Just read this article on hyperinflation and you can see some parallels to the in-game economy. Hyperinflation especially this part "In the case of rapid expansion of the money supply, prices rise rapidly in response to the increased supply of money relative to the supply of goods and services," this is exactly what has been happening in RoM!

Yes, it varies from server to server, but it's what has been happening for YEARS and removing diamonds from the AH is not going to do ANYTHING to change it!!!

Does any of this make any sense to anyone at GF who has the power to do something about it? No, they'll instead put in worthless NPC that will exchange diamonds for 23.5k gold per which only adds to the problem. Although it's at an exchange rate that you would have to be stupid to use.

Yes GF has needed to do SOMETHING for a long time but frankly I want to call out whomever decided this was a good idea and ask them if they understand basic economic principles or if they even spend any time in game.

Sorry about the wall of text but seriously this is an awful move IMO. But hey, those that enjoy taking it in the rear from GF or don't understand simple economics will be perfectly fine with whatever changes happen without any notice. Next they'll probably require unbinders for ALL gear as a way help increase their bottom line and "combat goldsellers." That sounds good doesn't it?

well only reasonable thing i see from this change is to stop the gold spamming bots. gameforge cant stop the gold botters, cause lets face the facts there is no active ingame gm who monitors the game, and some players that were just recently caught botting only got a few days ban and they are back already...

so basically no more diamond trading in the auction house will prevent the "Gold Spammers" from spamming their website, sure they can bot with thousands of bots and get billions of gold, but without anyway to buy diamonds except from gifting of other players, the gold spammers will hopefully stop... unless certain people are selling to the gold spammers...

what kind of sucks from this diamond trade revert is that for example, i now have only 300 diamonds, and i need another 100 diamonds to get them precious permanent backpack slots, there is no other way for me to get those extra 100 diamonds,
only choice is to buy 400 diamonds off from someone assuming they will want to gift and trade with me, or log onto the trusty diamond recharge page and actually have to buy diamonds off from gameforge which i have not done since the frogster days...

Gold spammers were in Logar (where few people go anymore) and sometimes Varanas Bridge. The world shout spammer wave started when the hack epidemic hit and of course, with AH dias. And spammers were absolutely buying dias from AH, all the time.

This NPC wouldn't be a huge problem if the gold offered would keep up a little bit with what diamonds were going for. 23.5k per is very very very low.

Yes, NPC is useless. Remember when we had the "gold for dia" and "dia for gold' NPCs before AH dias? Most people remember Cedric, as in "dias for gold" NPC. Nobody remembers whoever that other "gold for dias" NPC was because nobody was actively trading dias for gold. So, now we have another one just like that. Sure, the new NPC is useless, but it was useless before in its previous incarnation.

I found that NPC pretty funny actually....Govinda the dia > gold npc gives 235k gold for 10 dias when dias are almost 200k ea, yet on Thalia AU the dias > gold gives 350k gold for 10 when dia prices there have never been above 30k ea....logic.

No matter what they try to pawn it off as, it's just their attempt to generate more revenue by forcing us to buy diamonds directly. Frankly until they fix our server issues (ie lag, closed channels) and blatant screw-ups (like the D/WD poop skill) I'm not even considering buying diamonds again. Fix some stuff on the non-EU servers and perhaps you'll see some revenue again.

Ah the good old sledge hammer solution, for when you don't have the brains to think of anything better. No dias bound after 1 trade, No must be x level to use ah, trade dias, or use worldchat, no account must have existed for x days before being able to use ah/worldchat etc.

And of course no diamond option in the trade window to soften your sledgehammer blow, scam on brothers. Or you can lose 85% of the gold value of your dias and pay for the knowledge of a safe trade to the npc.

The complete lack of subtlety must be a point of pride for gameforge, you can always count on them to show up to the surgery room with a chainsaw. I applaud, if they already think you're incompetent why leave any doubt on the table, flip the damn thing over (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
