140% diamond sale upcoming?

Quoted

Fill your pockets with this bonus

The stars shine in your favor – it's raining Diamonds when you top up: make use of this divine gift and secure yourself the heavenly bonus!

From 31.01.2014, at 1pm, until 01.02.2014, at 11:59pm AEST, you'll receive 140% more Diamonds!

You can find out just how many Diamonds you will receive on the "Top-up Diamonds" page.

Hm. Nice move GF. Remove the ability to trade diamonds on the AH and then offer a diamond sale like this.....Touché.

Moved from "Shop Discussions" to "Discussions about Runes of Magic" because this sale is a Diamond sale, not an Item Shop item sale. "Shop Discussions" section is to be used only for Item Shop item sales at this point in time. ~Majik

Nah, what would make it really nice is that they finally put +16 jewels or some other rare item during the weekend, then we all can really have a good laugh.

PS. Announcement in news says 140% but banner in website says 120% so make sure to double check tomorrow when it starts.

mmm might have been plausible and would not have made my post necessary if there were +16 for ANY given price on the server someone was willing to part with...thinking before posting obviously alludes you....

Diamond sale appears to be up on AU side. I'm assuming by BB's screenshots those are either confirmed gashas on AU, or just trolling pics from the last +16 sale we had, which was literally the same gashas (i want you to literally grammar check my use of literally, pinkhat)

If these gashas are the confirmed weekend sale then bravo from a business standpoint GF. That's equally as brilliant as that flash diamond sale the monday (dec 16th) after the rune sale that weekend prior to the 16th.

Too bad for GF all my gear is already +16 and I dont need anything restocked. Seems like a good time for us diamond sellers to raise prices though, as I suspect the demand to supply ratio will shift with a +16 sale and a lack of AH purchasing. Wait til the last minute to sell your diamonds fellow sellers. That's when the buyers get desperate for their precious plussers.

I am curious to see how many f2p players turn p2p for the weekend with a sale like this though.

Of course these are all hypothetical comments and opinions until an official sales post is made in a few hours on AU page.

Here's to hoping my hypothesis is correct again.

if that is the sale, it's a gasha sale with the charges being the only guaranteed item. I suspect you should be more worried about how many players of all types tell the company to go take a flying leap. :)

It is the gotcha, I just logged in and confirmed it. 35 dias 16 rubies :dash: :dash: :dash:

Feel free to delete this post, im pretty sure more people will do more spam than I."balance the economy in the game and prevent Goldseller scam" pppffttt...

Edit: @ lesmceld yup its the 40 guaranteed charges and chance to get an extra item.

Pppffttt indeed.

I call corporate nonsense statement as well.

And I dont doubt there will be those raging about this weekend sale after the other decision GF made in Tuesday's maintenance. However I will again bet there will be a few of those die hard f2p advocates who turn p2p this weekend and play right into GF's plot. It is well played after all

Time to step in.

If any more bashing of each other occurs by any of you, sanctions will be handed out.

Secondly, regarding sales. Sometimes sales change, sometimes they don't.
Regarding this weekend's sale, it was modified.
One of the reasons I did not post the announcement at the normal time.

Now please carry on your discussion, but within the forum's rules and guidelines.

I for one am happy with the sale. Happy with the diamond sale. Yes I would rather them NOT be in Gashas. Yay for massive charges. Therefore I am happy with that. ould it be better, Maybe. With a 140% diamond sale, the gashas to me are worth it.

I, am definitely going to show my support for the game, the GMs and the things they have been doing this weekend.

Cheers.

So 140% more diamonds, so that means that if i buy 99$ of diamonds, i will get like around 8K diamonds. That in all reality the Gashas will cost me in all reality like 12 diamonds each approximatively if i am correct. So a very good deal overall.

But you have to buy your own with real money to have that deal but well worth it.

let's put that in a bit of perspective...

I can buy a game for $60, get access to all mods/content, and never have to pay another penny, or I can buy $100 of dias and improve my gear a bit for the time being...

IMO, this "let's make things expensive as fk, and if u don't wanna pay, don't buy" mentality is one of the reasons RoM is failing...I know that's why I went f2p, as well as quite a few other people I know...we didn't wanna pay the price, so we stopped buying...

this isn't a complaint, just an observation...

More apt comparison would be to the 120% diamond sale since the majority, if not vast majority of diamonds, are bought during sales like that. 140% diamond sale actually only gives slightly over a 9% increase of diamonds received. Eg, using 100 for ease of numbers you get 240 instead of 220. At 35 diamonds that price would now be 385/12, or 32.083 diamonds comparing between 120% and 140%. If you insist on reducing, you reduce for both giving you. 175/11 for 120% or 15.91 diamonds. For 140%, 175/12, or 14.583 diamonds.

Here is where your analogy breaks down. Most games you buy for 60 dollars.. have limited content. Once you are done with the storyline (in most) that is it you are done. If you are like me, most games (like the Metro games, which I love) take only a few days and poof done. I wait for steam sales on them cause 10 bucks is worth a play through nothing more. Call of Duty type games... yes you can play them online which is repetitious and boring after a while.

So the 60 bucks you refer to might get you what? 1 week to 1 month of play. Then you have to move on to the next one. So by that thinking... you should be ok with spending 50 bucks a month on this game since you can play it constantly for the whole month.

Now if you are talking about other MMOs... most require a monthly pay... so ok you should be ok with paying the monthly sub to this game. If they are a "you buy and you are good for all of it and no montly sub"... well I don't know of many of those.

Sorry but your analogy is completely false since most games for 60 bucks are a limited amount of content and not an ever expanding world. Most games that are an ever expanding world... are MMOs, and make their money some other way. End of the day... you pay to play every game.

Now pay if you want or not. However, I believe if you aren't paying... you should be happy for what ya get. After all you aren't helping support the game to make it better. You are just waiting, which is fine.

Well i agree with DK, many games at 60$ have limited gameplay and content. After a month you set it aside or reselling for 20% of it'S price. This game i put my money in for the versality of it, updates soon to come i hope ;-) and the community. For me the FPS aren't doing it for me, i got a gun and i kill you doesn't make sense at all, join the army and see what it is really like and you will think twice about it.

And Subscription base game, well the yare that, one month or 3 month without playing and account gone or fees to pay, ROM is better, i can decide to not log in for months or years and the account will still be here and didn't cost me a dime.

You know Cike i love this game, i know people want more for their money, but it is what it is for now and they are improving bit by bit.

Really want new content!!!!!! Level 90 cap and 2 new zones come on, make it happen please!!!! :doofy:

Here is where your analogy breaks down, most games I buy for $60 are brand new, have great graphics, great experiences and up to date gameplay. If I spent $60 on games the same age as rom in steams bargain bin I'd be stunned if someone told me rom was the better value in terms of gameplay hours or any other criteria compared to the 20+ games I could get for that.

The ever-expanding world of rom is recycled textures, models, gear with a couple numbers changed and completely untested quests/zones/instances squeezed out about once every 6 months, arguing that this has worth anything more than a couple dollars a month is silly.

People dont pay for this game because it ridiculously expensive, easily one of the most expensive in terms of dollar value into character of all time. Theres a reason why only handful of people even buy dias anymore, if GF cut the price of dias by 80% they might actual sell some because they simply are not worth anything close to what they sell them at even at 140% more dias.
