It's not even like they change any of the festivals that's why I don't understand a delay with it. It's not like they're trying to finish the next festival(like the level cap), they're just gonna re-enable the same hashed over festival again. From a coders/developers standpoint the delay on this is just negligence.

If we--the staff, including the CoMa--don't hear anything, we certainly cannot pass what we don't hear along to the community. I'm a lousy mind reader.

So the staff goes around running everything uninformed for months at a time? Good to know.

Nice intentional misunderstanding there, sertet.

I'm sure you DO understand the term "need to know", yes? Well, we--the staff--aren't quite on the "need to know" list when it comes to information regarding patches, content additions, and...wait for it...when festivals will be added. IF we get any information at all it will be less than a week prior and unless specifically told, we aren't allowed to mention such information ahead of time.

You're welcome to discuss this with me, Saito, or Beren in private. But I'd suggest that you keep remarks such as yours above out of the public eye. Some other staff member might..."misunderstand", shall we say?

Yes most all of the team is volunteers the only ones that actually get a paycheck are mika and ripley and i may be wrong about ripley the rest of us are volunteers and we do this because we care about the game and we are not all knowing or all powerful.

Well if you buy your diamonds with gold, it's not really 5$, it's just the time you put in getting the gold really, so not thecnically 5$. :gamer:

Also verbally abusing our fine GM's and CM's will get you nowhere, they are doing what they can and share it with us as soon as possible. :dash:

Some don't think much of the TEAM we have but i will say TYVM for all the improvement in what you guys and gals are doing. Better than Frogster 1000 over in my book.

Though It is true that most other games will get news and trailers for new content weeks in advance to get everyone excited (although I guess you could argue that even if they did that most people probably still won't be terribly excited anyway).

Yea this is the only MMO I've played where no information is given on "expansion patches" so to speak until the last second.

Other games will even say "hey, this is what we're working on, and this is the projected time frame on when we're releasing it."

Here it's just "oh hey maintenance tonight, here's the patch notes for the update"

I'm sure someone will pipe up saying "well they just take their time and don't say anything until they work out all the bugs" and let me stop you right there..because I cant recall an "expansion patch" here that was released that wasn't riddled with bugs. Heck, I have tickets in right now dealing with quest bugs from previous "expansion patches" that STILL aren't fixed.

That's not to say all other games are without bugs and release issues, because they're not. But at least we get a general idea and projected time frame on release dates with "the other guys"

The staff here can word it any grammatically political way they want to, but Sertet was basically right in stating that here, basically no one has a clue. And as Kalvan stated, even if they did have a clue, they can't tell anyone about the clue. So it's really no better.

And as Lamillie stated, it appears that everyone aside from Mika and possibly Ripley are just glorified hall monitors with either no information, or no information to ever give out.

The main thing I'm concerned about with lack of a heads up is the trailers. Trailers = free advertisement on Youtube. No trailer, how the hell is anyone supposed to find this game? Most expansion trailers for games I've seen has some comments below asking where they can download the game.

We the customers (who pay, grind, and thrive in the game) need more stimulation. Stop running on the cheap and not advertising. We need more players because we are all starting to get on each others nerves. The Population is so small now that we all bicker like a bunch of family members.

Instead of telling us what you are unable to do for us, let us know what you can actually do for us. Lately I've been pretty impressed with the IRC chat and how efficient it is at getting rid of botters ( that is if one of us even takes the time to log into IRC and report it) I'm pretty lazy, I have to be pretty friggin irked to even take a trip into IRC), My Game time is short and the last thing I want to be doing is sending in support tickets and playing volunteer police officer. (Maybe throw a few incentives around for taking the time to deal with the gold spammers and botters)

I know that the CM's in the forum aren't really paid, If you are gullible enough to volunteer for a job, don't come back with a comment that reflects your bitterness for the lack of paycheck in your pocket. I didn't sign you up, thus you should be just happy as a little daisy in cow manure just to hang out with a pretty color by your name and slap us on the wrist. (waits for smack across the head)

it seems like every time we say hello to a GM, they seem to leave within a year. We have no idea why, we just know that GF is the equivalent of a giant revolving door. To be honest, a GM is a GM, I don't know any of you personally so, you could just have names like GM 1 and GM 2 and cut out the formalities. The stability of a GM job seems far to shaky to even develop a relationship with them. Not saying you are bad people, I just ain't crying when you leave, just like you don't cry when we quit or get banned. So when the CM's and GM's respond with a smarmy comment that seems a little personal, I'm curious to what your policy is on "The Customer is Always Right"? Typically where I live mean mugging your customers, gets you fired.

And this patch *heavy sigh* The last patch was just another area with the same layout as all the other ones. Ooh look Terrain, and a road in the middle... Follow the quests and you'll follow the path..(like good little sheep) You don't even have to pay attention to the details in the game because (IT LAGS LIKE CRAZY WHEN THE GRAPHICS ARE ON HIGH) So the clothing that I buy for over 10 dollars in the Item shop, looks like marshmallow fluff because the game is impossible to play and enjoy at the same time.

And for all of you about to give me the lecture, If you don't like the game don't play it... Stuff it. I never said I didn't like the game, I just feel as though it has a lot of potential and gameforge has very little pride and enthusiasm for its product. Mistakes happen, but letting your company fall into the toilet because you forgot about having standards, is just plain sad. Today I bought a damn package that cost me over 10 bucks in diamonds (diamonds aren't easy to come by anymore) The Love kiss Spell Book doesn't even do anything and it expires in 7 days. Hell most classes have broken skills, I currently for some reason drop bread on the ground whenever I hit mysterious grace. I crashed 3 times in siege today (Why is it when you crash during siege you lose everything as if you are being punished, did my taking a tower piss off some omnipotent god, that just randomly throws me to the login screen and leaves my guild without a healer? Or did I have too many merits and you guys felt as though I needed a timeout?)

I mean no disrespect but, why does Gameforge leave it's employees out of the loop, do they not trust you guys? Its real cool that GM's and CM's work as ambassadors for the company, but it would be really awesome, if you guys would let us talk to your bosses for a moment. What happened to the whole Teamspeak meetings thing? Hell, I guess the lesson learned here is, why should anyone do anymore if they get away with doing so little. :dash:

/snip
ThePit is still doing Teamspeak meetings with the german community. It definitely makes more sense to have him do it for just 1 community to free him up more for other tasks, but I feel like our own CM should do TS meetings with us as well to keep us informed.

CM's never last long... just look at the verbal abuse they take everyday and you'll quickly see why lol.

I don't remember seeing the FM's and GM's complain that they don't get paid. And I think its fair enough that they should remind us that they aren't paid when people make ridiculous threats of them getting fired when the game shuts down. Obviously, if they are abusing that, than there's a problem, but that didn't seem to be the case, and I think its fair enough.

Spot on.

If I talked to people at work the way Moderators are responding to things lately (particularly in this thread) I would have been demoted to customer by now and looking for work elsewhere.

And that goes double for the "well if you don't like it don't buy from us" comments the Moderators make too.

I agree with Hipnotiq78 100%, we know the CM's & GM's have to deal with a lot of comments from there community & it can be stressful but don't come off as someone that nobody wants to approach when we do have questions or suggestions. I have a problem with the comment " I'm German deal with it " in the TeamSpeak meeting with the Pit, that right there comes off bad or misunderstood or even nobody wants to listen now after that comment.

When I posted about a sw they removed it & there was nothing bad about it, so there maybe a reading comprehension problem rather than misunderstanding. I have so much more to say about this game & how we are treated but it would get removed cause I feel like I've been misunderstood on here & the game when I'm just being honest. " I'm a US Marine war hero deal with it " I'm kidding but see how it comes off ? But really I am. Just know your game can be bigger & better than it is now, I just wish your team would see it rather than push us away.

I kind of wish that they would implement a buff overwrite system. Where you could hover over an item and it would say if it would overwrite a current buff. Maybe I'll have to make an addon that does that... :P

actually, it does. i could work for $100 an hour and be endgame by working an extra hour a day and going p2w, with very minimal grinding, or i could be making some lower value, and maybe grinding/alts/more time is how i get to endgame...

the biggest decision is not how much your time is worth monetarily, but how much it is worth to YOU. money may play a factor, but if you are willing to pay $20 to skip out on an hour of grinding, you just assigned a monetary value to your time.

so yes, in a f2p game with (p2w)cash shop, money = time

I don't see any threats about them being fired but what I do see is a stark contrast between how we are informed vs. how we should be informed seeing as we do support the game.

The people who "work" on these forums are compensated through diamonds on the accounts they play. In theory if the game shuts down and they are not offered "work" on other propjects then yes they would be out of a "job" or at least something to pass their time during the day.

It's really sad to see a lot of valid and correct points just go down the drain due to the over-protectiveness of a policy to visually blockade any type of detrimental (yet factual) of information on these forums.

All in all enjoy paying for this game everyone, on the "other" forums rumor has it the 2011/2012 contact with RW is up soon. :D
