Gear keeps switching gear slots

So this week, my gear has switched gear slots at least 7 times now. It starts to get really annoying when I click swap gear macro to realize it doesn't work because my gear switched slots -.-

Does anyone know why this happens and how to prevent it?

Can't prevent it. Personally I find it switches if you log out (or maybe crash..) while not using equip slot 2. At least thats what I have noticed. May be a completely different reason *shrugs*

Having anything in gear slot #1 is messing my gear slots up after a crash.

Have had that problem for a month now on one toon, and I operate several, but just that one toon has this issue. For that toon, it started after crashing out of seige. He crashed out, logged back in to game, logged back in to seige, and wth, why am I wearing the wrong gear...ooops. Since then, it comes and goes, but he always needs to check that he is wearing the right gear set on logging in.

This is not exactly a new issue. If you have three or more classes and you are using all three gear pages due to different armor/weapon needs and class levels, then this problem will tend to show up for you at some time or another. (I have a character that uses chain, cloth, and leather armor and, obviously, different weapons and accessories, as well as levels.) No, there is still no EST as to when RW will get around to fixing it, if they can and if ever. Sorry.

Having said that, I've not had the selected gear for the class combo actually *change* following a crash. I *have* had the other gear tabs/pages change their numbered position after normal logouts, depending on the class combo selected when I've logged out. It's irritating and, if you use the Inventory Viewer addon (which has not been updated by its author to recognize the 3rd gear page), it can cause issues. (NEVER scan the gear in pag/tab 3. EVER. Or, at least, until the author gets around to updating the addon.)

The "workaround" that I use when changing classes and gear is to change gear FIRST, then change classes to match the gear. Do it backwards and, depending on your class levels, you can short yourself active HP and will either need to heal up or swap classes and gear a second and, then, a third time.
