Runes of Magic US / AU

Seriosly in Grimdal I get guitars all the time.. don't know what all the crying is about. My guild has MANY mages so what ever place some of you are from I feel sorry for ya... one of the things I love best is going through the Ice Dwarf kingdom instance with a mage in the lead, whipping up all the mobs that are still a problem if you don't watch out.. and the cook is STILL able to kick your Azz if you let him freeze ya hahahah.
Its a great event and ye some little problems here an there but Im gratefull to the new interest its brought back to my group at least.

Look the problem is not, oh you can get guitars else where. Oh you are getting poms, so why are u complaining about guitars. That is totally unrelated. It literally has no bearing on this topic. I know i can go craft my own guitars....well that i can go tell mages to craft their own. I know im getting plenty of great stats off poms. The question i here is simply why loot tambo GHOST CARD vs loot tambo GUITAR. And there might be a valid reason as to why that we do not know yet and that they cannot yet tell us, that is entirely true. BUT as far as the logic of "stop complaining, you are getting poms" that is a non-valid argument.

I'm pretty sure they chose the instruments at random, or just went with whichever is used most often in instances, which is usually lute and tambo.

It's not a big deal because the lack of the instruments being sealed makes them less than useful, really, but it is indicative of GF/RW thinking: ie, "what do you mean, people use instruments other than lute and tambo??"

It's clear that RW doesn't think mages should bother existing as anything other than a choice in their class list, but I will admit I thought GF was more thoughtful about mages. In a sense, that statement isn't really even fair, as really it isn't even all about mages... it's about classes that use magic. W/m being a good damage class was clearly an accident RW regrets, and for those oddball classes like warlock... sorry folks. RW to magic users: "wait, you exist? surely not..."

But I suppose the guitar thing might have just been GF embracing reality... I mean, I play lute in parties anyway. What am I going to do with a guitar? When your raid is 99% melee and me... yeah.

People actually use the guitar? We always to Tambo and Lute for boss fights. I've been tossing all the guitars I get.

Also it is unfair I don't get any saxophones with the gm give away events, free stuff garden of goodies and 10 poms a day for doing very little.

Again with that "10 poms a day" thing. no ones arguing about 10 poms a day. Also learn to move to g3 and swap back into group for tambo if you are a mage and not using guitar. Unless you are fanny and are doing tambo for the scrub rogues in g2, like me :< i promise ill learn the tambo recipe soon fann.

What is this Mage of which you speak? Do you mean War/mage or Rouge/Mage? Those use guitar?

Concidering the best way to build mage is with ALL the PoM pieces except chest, earring, boots and neck, I don't think they is any particular reason why anyone should be 'upset' about missing a 3 day guitar.
If you havn't noticed, Mage benifit from this pom event more than any other class simple because there is no other way to build mage for similar results. At least healers have mem gear now that can be used in place of PoM gear.

Which is sad, because mage PoM gear isn't any better than melee PoM gear.

Read the forums... especially the Events section. Most times our CM's post them a day or 2 before Maintenance.

Always helps to check the forums regularly about events.

This particular event was announced in advance, as most are.

They could run a scroll banner in game for those who DONT regularly check the forums saying "Check out the forums for the great events going on right now etc"

You better believe they run a scroll banner when there's a diamond sale going on. Those go off every 2 minutes or so. So it shouldn't be too much of a hassle for the powers that be to give non-forum goers a heads up in game.

good idea on the banner. I do though like the idea of more visiting the forums, cause the more you got posting the better you get a feel of what the community feels.


I was ok without guitars though (even as a mage) cause the music collection boxes I ALWAYS pull guitars. If I run all my alts through games I end up with like....1 every day or every other day (the boxes that is), and always lacking on lutes and tambos (for my warrior and tambo for mage). Course I also got to 35 crafting on all those at the last crafting festival on most of our chars so they all would be able to make what they need.

Course I am NOT the norm.....

But that is why I said no guitar I didn't think was a make or break, I would like to think most mages (especially at this point in the game) would have tried to get self sufficient and be able to make at least guitars. I don't usually have a problem with casting speed either. I don't even use Arcane pots any more (which used to stack). we get our 50% faster cast, ancient spirit water for 30%, curse X for 13.2%, 5% from pet. So (.5)(.7)(.86(.95)=.28861 * 3 second cast = .86583 seconds. If you are m/w you get meditative trance for another 44%. Or if not arcane potion for 15% giving .736 second flame. If you are m/s you get your pet to balance the diff, So m/w and M/s are good without it.... and the others are only missing out on .236 seconds on their flame cause (it has been a while since I burned a boss with mage) flame used to cap at .5 seconds.

But again, I just don't think it was a big deal.. we all have been running Poms, I don't know how many other runes are really being done

For the most part, guilds will post these things in guild announcements or tell every guildie that logs on about it too.

Actually if u want to complain about the event... the least they could have done is fix IDK and had Mula Nail drop the chest with the recipe that should be in it. Or maybe even all invalid mobs wandering around or the 2 chfs that sometimes spawn or maybe even the 2 Icebound Guardians and u kill only one and yet the door won't open because there is still one Icebound.
