Can we please not worry about new content atm or atleast catch up on old content at same time of releasing new content???
I'll agree with this - there's a lot of updating needed to be done, bugs to be fixed, revisions to be considered.
I remember doing questlines back in the closed beta that aren't even in the database any more, but the NPC's are still there. Please add the quests back or remove the NPC's.
Like we shouldve had 55 and 65 elite skills, but atleast need 80 elite skills at a minimum if your now going to follow that lazy trend.
Uh, no - just, no. We had elite skills every 5 levels from 15-50 to make sure we each had a distinctly class combo from the next player. The level 50 elite skills were clearly the finale to these yet the 60 and 70 elite skills were implemented probably due to player demand.
...and look how badly they were implemented.
Level 60 Elite Skills should have been restricted to game content that was level 60 or below. Instead we have it encroaching into the content up to level 70. Heck, even 75 if you consider the 'hard mode' bosses.
The level 60 elite skills themselves are not the best designed either - my prime example here being that the D/W got the elite skill that the P/W needed.
Level 70 elite skills were not thought out properly either. You cannot access the quest line until you are at least level 72 and it makes use of the level 70+ content instead of the level 70- content.
Besides, when Runewaker designed the game, how do you know they intended to give us 55 and 65 elite skills?
ISS skills for 75 and 80 gear need to be implemented.
Why do they 'need' to be implemented? There's a lot of ISS ingame already and any further skills introduced will increase the chance of class-imbalance.
(Not that I'm saying they're balanced already.)
I just dont understand why they so worried about new content all the time, when even changing existing content, will still give everyone something to do... something to farm, something to work for.
New content must always come to keep players interested and happy. However, there's nothing to say that the new content has to be endgame content.
However, you have to be really clever to design low- or mid-level content in such a way that it will appeal to endgame players and I just don't think Runewaker can pull that off correctly.
Consider the Bolynthia Rift - the level 50 version is never played through, afaik.
A good example of a well-implemented mid-level content addition was Star Trek Online's addition of Nimbus III in May last year. The entire planet is the basis for uncovering a smuggling operation and takes you through 6-7 levels of gameplay. The entire Klingon character had a totally redesigned levelling experience and Romulans were added in to the game as a playable race with full unique content.
Any new race added to RoM will ultimately end up at Varanas at level 10.
Whilst I fully agree that RoM must always have new content to keep it alive, I would urge Gameforge to consider taking many of the points made in this thread and throw them squarely at Runewaker.
Tell Runewaker to get off their arses and stop increasing the level cap in Dragon's Prophet every few days and start putting time into
your game as well. Runes of Magic set the initial standards for a Free-To-Play game and those standards have been beaten by other games time and time again.
Runes of Magic has such potential yet Runewaker seem to miss their chances with it.
Please give us a reason to proudly declare we play Runes of Magic instead of muttering it under our breath when people ask what game we play.
There are many new and existing Free-To-Play games appearing all the time and they are featured and advertised everywhere -- it's up to you, Runewaker and Gameforge, to make the internet aware of your awesome game again.
