There appears to be a complete lack of understanding here.

RW and GF are not uninformed.

They know what the problems are.

They know how to fix them.

They just don't want to fix them.

All the posts in the forums do not change this fact. The game is running the way they want it to run including with all the problems.

After having been away for several years and seeing a thread like this at the top when I decide to check things out again... it's like deja vu in the worst way.
I found a thread like this on most MMORPG forums, even the new "AAA+" titles that people said would replace the current MMO giant.

I see threads like that all the time too, but what's different here is that even after these years, the game appears to suffer from unstable and poorly optimized coding, and that's a fact worth noting. If they can't bother to optimize after all this time, then everyone's money is just going into a void.

I've tried plenty of games since departing RoM, but most were at least stable enough to play without constant fear of crashing. A game that crashes on a regular basis is not a finished product, I wish players would stop excusing it.

As OP, I think the name and thread are still valid. If you choose to interpret this thread in a negative light that is your choice. However I could legitimately ask this question on any game no matter how new or old it is. In fact a similar thread is going on in the Minecraft forums. It is fun to guess and estimate how long something will last. No reason to get all scared and afraid. 99 out of 100 people do not visit a game forum before they play and I bet only 10 out of 100 Rom players ever visit the forums at all. Only the more hardcore or truly desperate.

and how many threads have you seen recently that are returning players or new players asking things they see this they WILL think "hmm if this game doesnt have long should i come back/should i play the game" while there arnt many i will agree some do and some hardcore people looking for new games tend to look at that games forums cuz its a good way to see what they should do and such they see this they WILL think so i stand by requesting this closed to renamed

and the hardcore players can tend to spend money on the game money that gf (yes ik its and if but its an If that i hope will happen) could use to fix things.
And more money spend the more likely prices might lower

I would argue the reverse, Gameforge and Runewaker could fix things and lower prices and actually do big promotions to bring in players. That would be a way to rejuvenate and repopulate the game avoid the "death" and give the game many more years. Which is what this thread was about in the first place. Not talking about the end, is not the right answer. If no-one talks, then no-one will listen. It was my hope/dream, someone of importance would see this thread (crazy idea) and think hey we are in a decline, but we can fix it.

I understand your fear, I am from Indigo. For a long time, I never wanted to say a bad word about my server in fear that people would stop coming. You know what has happened. People stopped coming anyway! I now believe in voicing my concerns, and not live in fear of what the forum guest might think. I know your on Reni and things seem fine, but things could be better and having a conversation is the only way we have of attempting to make things better.

Well i somewhat see your point now i just think the thread should be renamed but you should still speak up for your server i think most new players end up coming to reni i mean most of the forums is my guild XD heck i think we keep geting the servers new players also.

The only fact that we see tons of players commenting on this thread proves RoM has still a lot of time ahead. This game is realy fun and pretty deep. But there seems to be a major mistake we all make or at least made. Having new players coming is not only GF's task but ours too. I just came back nd brought 4 friends with me and people were nice to us and helped us. That is a great attitude to adopt if you want new player. You do not want this game to die? Advertise it yourself! It cost nothing. Plus, when you see low levels, HELP THEM! The things that keep new players to stay in the game is if people are friendly with them..! This game isnt dead!

exactly its not dead and i've seen a few new players on reni altho i dont know about the ones we haven't managed to pick up but the ones in our guild are still here geting lvl's and geared up slowly games not dying but the small things like this thread can scare some away again requesting closure of thread or a name change of the thread to something not as negative sounding

Just for thought.

Guess this is off topic or maybe not. Anyways, this is a few points I think would boost the population. Having played since before HOS was end game, and you could not go anywhere in Indigo without getting pk'ed, what fun times, really was.

1. Do away with the bound status, except for quest items. And here is the argument why. I spend money plussing, tiering, and stating, then need to spend more to sell it. Or maybe make it where I can unbound an item for a certain amount of mems, honor points, ejs or a mixture of each. Or bring back the declaration of neutrality (maybe not as token items), but some way. Or give me a ticket that will expire at a certain time ea day that clears my reputation. Unbinding of gear is not a necessary way of making money.

2. Plussing Jewels. Do away with the when it fails it drops a level. Have the in-game and tokens jewels be 10-15% chance to plus, but only to level 6. 7-12 be diamond only and have 50-60% chance to plus. 13-20 be ruby only and 60-70%. That way the f2p get a little plssing in and the p2p get a reward for spending money on this games biggest drain.

3. Institute a once a month trade for something event. Does not need to be poms. Could be badges, tokens, item shop stuff, or guild contributions. Just anything that could get the economy running for a bit on each server. I got stacks of lvl 50 crafting mats that I would love to turn into something useful.

4. Tempest Heights. Now this is for selfish reason, but change the late TH to an hour before that siege. Also, make it where the level 10 ancient treasure chests only drop stuff from the token section of the item shop. And maybe add or move the earlier TH to 9 am pst.

5. Use MMO Hunt and such websites to get new players by putting out codes to get stuff when reaching a certain level.

6. Allow the players to vote on a change to the game or item shop. This vote could be a list of idea from GF that could be presented once every 3 or 6 months.

7. Do away with the token price for minis, use instead ejs or honor points. Not really necessary an idea just a suggestion. I don't do many minis anymore because ejs are better, and just require time instead of tokens.

Some of these idea may increase the player base. Which would create more cash flow into GF. Just an idea from an older player of this game.

You should put all your comment on the suggestion section!

+1 on everything drdeath....

I think everybody would agree that plussing needs to change. bound gear is another thing that needs to change, at least the low level item sets(ISS and such)...
my r/p can outdps r/m. your name is stupid.

mages should stack dex. word.

I would agree with all except number 7. The phirius shells were/still are a beneficial move to both players and the company. The benefits to the players is obvious, while the company reduced the number of tokens out there to buy IS items, and making the player more likely to buy puris. It was a smart move that still benefits players and the company. I feel it is unnecessary to change that to benefit players more, and the company less.

Heh, even though I too have moved onto other games this one will sit well in my memory as one of the best regardless.

The originality the game offered and community I played with were more than entertaining. It's a shame to see such artwork fade, in such a slow and uncertain fashion.

And as far as my 2 bits go for those concerning the value of this thread, I think it holds a fairly high one. Yes, it will probably deter some new players from joining. However should they not have warning to the instability and lack of attention the game is receiving? How would you feel, given you were excited to play this game and sunk time into it. Would you be upset when you found out, abruptly and unknowingly the game was shutting down?

And on another note, if those in play are doubting the game's length, should they not be answered or told otherwise? Seems like a pretty popular topic as well, with a lot of common forum goers replying in plenty. It's on more minds than not, its a matter of accepting/denying. As with most things, perspective is key on your standpoint toward this topic. It's very black and white.

And if my standpoint hasn't been made clear, I'm under the belief that this game is making it's way to the gallows.

Well Mammony, i am sorry to say you have no clue what you are talking about, we have support, we have GM's, bugs have been fixed, great sales, great diamonds sale, diamonds cash back. Also the game was made to be up to level 200, so ya ways to go. As i recall you do not play the game at all for the last 2 years??, you made a short come back in our guild but decided to leave the game again. We've had quite a bunch of new and old players come back to our guild.

Funny how people who do not even play the game, comment on things they have no clue about or knowledge. They come here to rant and how the game this and that. If you can't play it, don't want to play it, come here to whine and complain on things you have no clue of, well restrain yourself from doing so, you serve no purpose.

The game on Reni is doing fine, the population is growing, people are having fun etc. A lot of people try to give ideas on how to improve stuff and GM's are trying to pass the info and some do get implemented. Being negative gets nothing done for the game.

This thread should be closed and should have been a long time ago or edited at least.
