New Level Cap Patch Predictions

So after seeing the Taborean Journals and reading them, and reading the Tech Notes about the size of tomorrows patch I have a few talking points and concerns.

Let's start with the Taborean Journals.

For starters, it's a bit disappointing seeing the same recolored creatures over and over again, but that was kind of expected I suppose. Judging from the few teaser pictures we've been shown, the area looks very pretty. I'm looking forward to exploring it. The waterfall area looks very nice.

Now..on to some concerns:

On the way back to the Genesis camp, I found a small road in the Jungle of Irunia. It led me to a place called the ‘Crypt of Eternity’. Behind the collapsed walls, I saw a magical portal leading to a new area, but accessing it would require many days work. I decided to head back to Varanas to gather adventurers to help with the task of reaching the portal!

Now, i dont know how much of what is written can be taken to heart. But the wording of this leads me to believe we're in for another CV / AC type instance where you have to submit mats or something in order to gain entry.

And if it doesn't mean that, then perhaps they're hinting at it not being open for a week or two like has been the case for the last few big releases where the instance was not launched with the official patch on time. Only tomorrow will reveal the truth.

Lastly (and also tying into my previous concern, the patch size (380MB) seems rather small for a Level Cap / New Zone Patch. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't patch updates of this calibur almost twice as large? Which leads me to believe, again, that this patch will NOT feature an open instance with the new zone.

Am I being negative? No. I am quite grateful for some new content. I have grown quite bored in RoM, and a new level cap and new zone with new quests will keep me busy for a couple days before I max out again lol..

Just some food for thought until the patch releases tomorrow.

Maybe they added bits and pieces of level 90 cap stuff with previous patches so it wouldn't be so big file size.

Who knows.

Maybe they are gonna do typical gameforge and release the buggy patch so we wait a week like normal till they open the instance :D happened with last 3 inis now -.- also maps/instances have been designed till past level 100 already and can be accessed. So yes our client already has it patched. Just search on YouTube :)

I don't really mind the re-hashed mobs because there's really few reasons to go back to the zones after you reach level cap aside from running to the instance, for me at least. It would be interesting if there was interesting mob mechanics for some elites that makes them interesting to fight, rather than just linear scaling of atk/def/hp, and ofc, still hoping for interesting public events that would encourage people to go back to those zones.

Agreed on the prettiness though. I was rather impressed by those screenshots. New zone looks pretty good.

As for instances, I took it to mean that it will be released later, which I don't mind as much if it really is that broken. I hope it doesn't mean you need to donate mats to open it, that would be a pretty bad move.

In short, the hint means that the instances wont be open directly.

Crypt of Eternity is the normal zone instance like Pillars of Morfan was before.

Hall of Fire belongs into the Temple of the Ancient Spirits as the third of the fourth halls, and is ofcourse subject to the Temple's opening mechanism itself.

Also see todays' newsletter where they instances are both described as coming soon. :)
