So after seeing the Taborean Journals and reading them, and reading the Tech Notes about the size of tomorrows patch I have a few talking points and concerns.
Let's start with the Taborean Journals.
For starters, it's a bit disappointing seeing the same recolored creatures over and over again, but that was kind of expected I suppose. Judging from the few teaser pictures we've been shown, the area looks very pretty. I'm looking forward to exploring it. The waterfall area looks very nice.
Now..on to some concerns:
On the way back to the Genesis camp, I found a small road in the Jungle of Irunia. It led me to a place called the ‘Crypt of Eternity’. Behind the collapsed walls, I saw a magical portal leading to a new area, but accessing it would require many days work. I decided to head back to Varanas to gather adventurers to help with the task of reaching the portal!
Now, i dont know how much of what is written can be taken to heart. But the wording of this leads me to believe we're in for another CV / AC type instance where you have to submit mats or something in order to gain entry.
And if it doesn't mean that, then perhaps they're hinting at it not being open for a week or two like has been the case for the last few big releases where the instance was not launched with the official patch on time. Only tomorrow will reveal the truth.
Lastly (and also tying into my previous concern, the patch size (380MB) seems rather small for a Level Cap / New Zone Patch. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't patch updates of this calibur almost twice as large? Which leads me to believe, again, that this patch will NOT feature an open instance with the new zone.
Am I being negative? No. I am quite grateful for some new content. I have grown quite bored in RoM, and a new level cap and new zone with new quests will keep me busy for a couple days before I max out again lol..
Just some food for thought until the patch releases tomorrow.
