Random nitpick, but the anti-catapult vehicle sucks against catapults.
anyways, from what I've read and seen Heals on gates are fine. The only problem is, %HP heals that an ungeared alt can do. I've seen ppl switch to D/W, even if they're ungeared, just for Nourish just to keep the gate up... like dafuq? Or just spamming Lv50- alts on gates?
Probably because very few people like spending 5 mins healing gates. Why heal a gate, when you can be somebody's pocket heals and do actual PvP. PvP is supposed to be player vs player after all, not player vs gate (I've healed gates before, it was awful. Even worse than farming minigames).

very few people like downing a gate and want to actually pvp so why dont we remove castles, guards, towers, etc etc etc, inflate the arena by 100x and scrap it out to xxxxxxx amount of points.

As far as p/l life surge make it useful for something besides siege building and gate healing and I would gladly accept it being changed. Also it does have a cd so its not like I can sit their and spam it and it is a channeled skill so it can be interrupted. Guess some would prefer to get skills they don't like made useless rather than find out a way to get passed it.

how is p/wl broken? , i know the 400-500 range heal is crazy :p , but only lasts for 30s ^.^

i'd like to see changes made to towers.. they should never be easily capped in the first place
why not add a shooting tower on each tower (like the honor crystal)
so u can only destroy it with a siege engine :D

Nothing is broken with it, it's just that as it stand the p/wl is the single best healer for siege war gates because its 70 elite allows it to heal 4% hp per second for 15 seconds i believe it is? Something like that.

It would just be nice to see siege not requiring a army of alt's to safely defend your own gates.

And Nox I do agree that p/wl got 'screwed' over on its elites during the release of the 60/70 as did a few other classes. However that is a whole other subject ;p

I'm mostly annoyed that all the qq about bleeds on gates got them removed but % heals and absorbs still work fine.

All status effects or no status effects. Trying to balance specific classes obviously isn't working.

The range on life surge isn't given but I can white hit at the distance that life surge reaches and yes it is 15 secs with 2 min cd. If I move it breaks and I cant cast anything while it is going. I have to be at same level not above or below and must have line of sight. and as far as bleeds on gates hots don't work either and I personally believe every class has something that's useful and the only thing anyone claims to be op on p/l is a 2 min cd in siege so lets nerf it how about learn strategy. there are those out there that can get through the gates even with life surge on it may take a little longer than a gate with no heals but there is more available in siege now than there was before the changes to take down a gate faster than I can heal it. I got another idea allow my prayer of tribulation to heal gates or since we want to remove % heals lets remove all % damage then don't need a % heal to counter tornado and scrolls.

I believe SW is good the way it is. I am sure that there is no way that anyone can make it so that everyone is happy. The thing is we all have the opportunity to do fearless caps, it isnt like one guild can and the other can't. We all have the same opportunity to cap the towers doing it whatever way works best for the individual guild.

Depending on the guild we are facing, I choose if I need to go DPS on my M/S or if we will need heals I will go P/K. If the opposite guild is using the Seige Engine like they are designed to be used I doubt very much if healers are able to outheal the gates. I do not see a need to nerf healing the games.

I think a lot has to do with attitude here, I mean SW is one hour a day, no doubt it is probably the best hour of the game these days, but it is meant to be fun for everyone, not just guilds that can mow down everything and end the seige in 5 or 10 minutes. Sure if you go in there with a bad attitude your going to find all sorts of things to complain about, but if you go in with a good attitude then SW is a blast. I look at it like this, we go in, see how the other guild is playing and do what we think is best to counteract their strats. We lose some , we win some, but we always try our best and we always have fun doing so. :D

since we want to remove % heals lets remove all % damage then don't need a % heal to counter tornado and scrolls.
The difference is scrolls/tornado have a 7 minute cooldown and it requires you to spend a sizable amount of merits and crystals. On the other hand, some %Heals/Absorbs have lower cooldowns, higher % effects, and can be done by ungeared players and/or Lv50 alts.

actually the skill comes with getting herald and how many have gotten herald only to use tornado when the opponent and I believe those merits are all returned so it actually doesn't cost anything. 7 min cd granted siege engines do no not and scrolls well timed with tornado is what 120% damage just using the fire ones. I seem to see lots of towers placed to keep people from being able to heal or cast anything. I understand k/p cant heal through rams anymore and the main percent heal I am understanding still works is life surge which requires lvl 70 on both sides for elite and if low level all those tstorms will have an under or no geared alt dead before they can reach the gate to cast so still seems to be a lack of ability to strat or lack of desire to strat which is what I thought the game was about. If its not what the game is about why do we talk about bosses having strats why don't we talk about requirements to burn bosses before they use skill that u need strat to survive? Why do we go through so much trouble to make alts to buff to burn what bosses we can as that is still a strat? Why don't we just fuss and complain for runewaker to nerf bosses so we can walk in and solo 1 shot the HM instance of lvl cap with gear picked up as loot and no modifications since statting, plussing, and slotting is still using strategy?

I think magio was more referring to the use of ch/m's though there is also the warlock defense net and p/wl d/w % heals.

Also if buffs were removed from gates I'd hope to also see the use of scroll changed to more of a player used effect, and for gates to immune them. As for nado maybe reduce the % damage it does from 10% a tick to 8% and them the use of siege vehicles for the healing and rest of the damage needed. Just an idea to solve the alt army issue.

Yes Jada I always love your down to earth posts and though I do mostly agree that siege is fun regardless, the one major thing i'd change if I was able to chose, would be the guild guard leader and honor guard to be toned down a bit, down to about 25m hp maybe, which would still be crazy hard to take down.

Not to forget the p/r that can make gate almost completely immune to heals life surge is the only thing I have that will heal a gate with the p/r debuffs on the gate. Plenty of debuffs that get put on gates not just buffs.

On the subject of siege stuff...
Are you suppose to be able to drop treache/eyes and such from siege engines ? I have only seen one or two guilds do this but it is rather annoying


I personally would be fine with the current siege mechanics if the ability to ninja cap towers was done away with... make the big guild guard knock off holy aura/candy/seren/fearless

cant speak for others but the guard leader does interrupt me through holy aura with the aoe so I strategically use it before fearless now instead of at the end.

lol @ ppl that think siege is fine the way it is. They need to encourage more player vs player, group vs group battles. I dont like the idea of sticking with 15 sec fearless and increasing the time to cap a tower. My take is still tone down the lead/honor guard and remove/change some of the buff on gates and discourage people from bringing retarded amount of alts into siege.

I understand where you are coming from on that but if they are bringing retarded amounts of alts into siege that means ridiculously low amounts of attackers and probably means the guild doesn't have a lot of members. I mean if a guild has a full house of attackers how are they going to get a ridiculous amount of alts into siege. If a guild only has 10 attackers why not bring in alts to get as many rewards as they can to level the stuff in their castle? I still see everything you are wanting as a way to steamroll weaker guilds and guard nerf as a way for u to be able to kill guards to get towers when fighting tougher guilds. If wanting a good fight would it not be better to ask for sieges to be more reasonably paired?
