Passing of Fandreith/Fann/Dellenn

Some sad news about a dear member of our community


Dear community,



It is with heavy heart and sadness that I share the news that was

brought to our attention recently. We have learned that our dear member,

Fandreith or Fann, also known as US Staff member Dellenn, has passed

away. She will be missed dearly by all of us on the US staff team as I'm

sure all of you in our community.



Nothing is planned at the moment regarding any official events, but the

GM team will be happy to support any local events or gatherings you may

have planned on your server(s) to the best of our ability and

availability.

TYVM Aqualink for making a post on Fandreith. I have learned of her passing and it made me very sad, many times i had private chat with her and she was really an awesome person.

She enlightened me on the work you guys do as GM's and how it can be frustrating and gratifying at the same time.

We don't need an event or anything, but having an NPC in her name would be a good way for players to remember her. Hope this can be done by Gameforge.

Godspeed Fann you will always be remembered.

Never a better time to agree with Zidlef then on such a sad day as today. Fann you will be missed and remembered by many ;( And I agree that the best way to preserve that memory would be a NPC in her name as well. Maybe rename the Mage instructor in Varanas.

Fan was probably one of the most influencial people on my game experience and, to some extent, my life(for the better of course). It saddens me greatly to learn of her passing, and my condolences to those who knew her even better than me.

Fan, you will be missed.

I am afraid it would be up to Runewaker, though. I don't think GF can rename NPCs.

It is not unprecedented to do. I had an online friend, avid computer RPGer and a regular participant in several online communities for those RPGs. When he passed away, several games (Deus Ex, Ultima, Might and Magic and Morrowind) included tombs and memorials dedicated to Lord Brinne, his online persona.

Would be nice if RW could do the same.

I do not support renaming a NPC in her name. She may have been good to some of you but there are enough people who did not have a good experience in dealing with her. I am sad to hear of anyone passing away but lets not forget this is a role playing game and we do not need to incorporate RL stuff.

For those who want to have a memorial that is fine but lets leave it at that.

I agree with Zid too. Fan had a huge impact on my gaming experience in rom as well as being a great friend. I will miss talking to her for hours on the phone as well as playing with her in game. She helped alot of people here, it'll never be the same without her. RIP Katie ... love you and miss you ;(

Fandreith was an amazing member of the palenque server, was sad when she left for reni. One of the last times that palenque was on par with other servers in terms of instance running was tosh level 70 cap under her leadership. One of the only players in sw that i ever made special macros for fighting against.

Horrible news to hear about. While I did not have any direct contact or much, it is always sad to hear of a member of the community passing. From what I have heard some type of memorial in game would be a great idea.

I heard the news and found it very hard to believe. I never met Fandreith or Fann ingame but the loss of a fellow player is never a good thing.

What you leave behind is a legacy of knowledge of the Mage class and its' possibilities. I'm not sure anyone came close to matching your understanding of it and long may the guides you posted in these forums be stickied for all to see.

Unfortunately, this is unlikely to happen. The EN/DE teams lost Cisdai a few years back and we hoped for some ingame memorial then but it hasn't come. :(

Oh wow... Came on the forums to check how things are going to see this O.o

and a message from Killa about Archeage, whatever tf that is.

Katie was an amazing person, who would've though someone at 37 could die from Cancer?

She was an incredible person, to be able to touch lives through a silly game.

I will always remember how me and Noony brought together Notorious with Roxie Draden Divi and Korum and Arles. She was a good person and a great guild leader. had a very bubbly personality. It's sad that a moment in a game cane be one of your best memories as a person.

Some didn't like her, but how could you not? She will be greatly missed..

I have a ton more to say... but to end this.. I'll just say that even with all the flaws and such in the game...she loved it.. it aggravated her but she loved it.

Edit: I've stopped pretty much playing games sadly, due to time restraints. Work and girlfriend and overtime. But i have yet to find a game that will capture my attention like RoM did...
