I've known andydragon for, I would hazard to guess, five years. He and kjhs are probably the only players on Osha I know who were around back in the Alpha days of RoM here in the US. That's right. Lower-case character names. When the game shifted to Betas, all new accounts/toons had to begin the toon name with a capital letter. That's how dedicated to RoM they are. Or, at least, one indicator.
andy (I'm purposely using the lower-case "a") was a fine player and, contrary to what many of us did when the Scout class was bent over and ravaged by RW, stuck with the class. He rarely complained about Scouts having been so badly hobbled. It wasn't until some time last year that he spent the time leveling his Rogue side and finally went R/S. He stuck with learning how to play that combo and, as I expected, became quite good at it.
andy was one of the nicest people in RoM that it has been my pleasure to know. We havebeen in several guilds together, and, after I stormed out of Fortuna, he invited me to Oldiesbutgoodies. He put up with my, er, vocal foibles--yeah, that's a good way to describe it--in our voice chat. And when I finally needed to move on, andy wished me well with the game and my new guild. We remained friends and had a blast when out respective guilds faced each other in siege. I didn't kill him often, and he didn't kill me often. I'd like to think that we were about even, in that respect.
andy's passing has dimmed my life, but the privilege of having known him, played RoM with him, and discussed many things unrelated to RoM with him, I think that immeasurably outshines it.
I am proud, honored, and humbled to have known him and to have him as a friend.
