First! I actually like the new item shop (at least conceptually). the load time gets better and the layout is nice. plus with it being a web browser i assume they have added some of the lua functionality back in? (the possibility of lua functions and the potential that web access in game brings are really bringing my opinion up here... so please don't let me be wrong).
the layout: B (Conceptually it is an A. the flaws lower it a bit.)
there are a few bugs with it. but, for the most part it is nice.
-I like the clean and fresh design of it.
-it is easy to search and the fact that they have both ruby and diamond items together might let you know when you are about to buy some thing that you could have bought with your surplus of rubies as apposed to your hard earned cash (or your moms depending on you age). -also there is a load time issue with the web site. perhaps removing some of the images and replacing them with colored div areas (if this is not possible then perhaps just lower the resolution a bit).
Individual items: D- (Again, conceptually great! but, missing features and load times drop the score substantially)
-with it being a web page driven shop i am hoping that this will make it easier for gameforge to maintain the shop and make changes as needed. including adding new items or returning old items that have been lost from the shop for a long time. (though this is yet to be proven and the only thing keeping this from being an F. Runewaker really missed the mark for the items.)
-a few changes though...
--mounts NEED the speed in the description.
--any thing that is rendered in the game (ie. clothing, furniture, pets, ext...) NEEDS to to have preview.
--Descriptions seem to have lost a LOT of the information during transition. did the tags fall off in transit?
--Details take too long to load. (these should be pre-loaded data that is available on mouse over as a tool tip.)
--Items should have a way to link them in-game so you can discuss purchases with people easily. this could be the tradition in-game item link or even a link that opens the item shop to that item. you could accomplish this with a copy to clipboard function from
here modified with an event listener for the shift-key. this is not nearly as hard as it sounds.
Purchasing: A- (the lack of a keyed in amount is hurting you here)
this one you really hit the mark on!
-the secondary password is no longer required due to in-game security pass thru.
-the over all purchase is made easier by the diamond link right there on the item with a built in confirmation that makes you doubleclick
-the item description has nice amount selections for purchasing more of the item. there does need to be an option to manually key in the amount though.
-gifting has a nice new interface with all the options from the item screen and the ability to choose from friends and guild mates or key in a persons name.
now.. i was dreading this...
The Wheel: F (this was ruined. who will spend all their money spinning this to get up to tier 3 and have a chance, 1 chance, only one chance before the timer resets... this is baring a crash... but that's fine since no one ever crashes in this game-coughs-... ok.. lets go..
-tier 1.. really... wood... low level wood... i pay diamonds for wood.. dumb move guys...
-tier 2.. not as bad. far better than tier 1 {removed irreverent remark}
-tier 3.. great items! too bad most people can't afford the diamonds required to get there... so, no incentive in this tier. as, no one will ever hit it often enough to matter...
-
keys need to last longer removed: Keys are lasting far longer than it was reported to me
-
keys need to be persistent through a re-log or crash event Removed as this is not the issue it was reported to be
-the interface lags like no tomorrow and load time is way too slow
-remove low level crap white or green items from the wheel. replace them with really cheap item shop items if you want them to be junk (fine), make them item shop junk.
-items won don't stack with existing items in your itemshop bag... this needs to be fixed. {added after i noticed the issue}
*edits bring the grade up from F- to F but tipping towards the F-
TESTED after initial information was flawed:
9 spins (45 Dia)
-Oak Wood x5
-Mountain Demon Grass x5
-Beet Root x5
-Ash Wood x5
-Tin Ore x5
-Bison Grass x5
-Advanced Agg x1
-Daily reset x1
-Enhancement potion x1
(total items are actually worth the diamonds paid for the most part. but the presentation had me pissed the entire time and i just can't make my self pay more diamonds to get past the 3 keys and make it to the 2nd tier... my reaction to getting some thing good wasn't "WOOT! YES!" it was more like "About F!!!!!!!!! Time A!!!!!!!s".. so probably not the reaction you were going for here.. also, the items were dropped in my bag before the animation started... kinda ruins the experience of the wheel)
infrastructure: B (solid interface, added functionality yet poorly implemented)
-the removal of the need for a secondary password during purchase is nice
-the other features that appear to be there seem to work great if 'a bit' slow
-the ability to view basic account info from the interface is nice
-you need to add a timed recheck of the credentials so that zone hopping is not required to view the interface. long dungeons will make this a NEED item
-bonuses of a web based item shop actually go far beyond those listed previously and are only limited by the ambition and skill of runewaker and gameforge
things that are helping the score are the addition of some long awaited items in the shop (i can't pull them up to list them right now as i've been in my house for 20 minutes and the page won't load......

)
over all i would give it some where between a 'C' and 'B-' rating... great plan needs lots of work and probably should not be out of the development phase just yet. but that makes it perfect for runewaker development...
these are my thoughts. take them or leave them as you will...
