letter from the rommunity

Ok to start this is a honest about how i feel about the current changes.
about me i've been playing rom since early beta and even with the issues and quirks i fell in love have seen a lot of good people come and go both as players and staff and would like to thank all of them for making it enjoyable.

Quoted

Over the last six months, thanks to your support, we've been able to chalk up a number of successes:

☑ The ‘Veiled Crypt of Kashaylan’ instance was fixed, allowing us to fully activate the Kashaylan zone.
it took awhile and there were/are still a few issues but thank you

☑ The ‘Splitwater Coast’ zone was opened, and the attending ‘Bone Peak’ instance is also live.

again there were/are still a few issues but overall thank you

☑ The ‘Spirit of Tempest Height’ instance was updated to meet the current level cap.

i enjoy the new tempest heights reward system could be a little better and maybe find a way to lock chests to party/raid but overall good job

☑ We merged some US and EU servers
without any hitches. The merged servers are performing better from a
technical standpoint, and we've heard a lot of positive responses from
the players, which is always very rewarding.

yes the merge went a lot better then expected there was a few hiccups just after don't know how much was from the merge or other issues but that was one of the smoothest things i've seen done in this game so thank you

☑ The way Diamonds work was changed so that they're credited to a player's account, rather than being bound to a single server.

needed to be done for a long time before the merge but glad it was finally done

☑ During the Snowflake Festival you were able to take part in the Great Snowball Fight for the first time, fighting against the Gingerbread Men – or even becoming one yourself.

to be honest didn't care one way or the other didn't even bother

☑ The rewards system for the ‘Arcanium Arena’ was reworked to take account of the growing number of AFK players. Now there's far greater incentive to win, rather than stand around passively to pick up the wooden spoon. We're also working on ways to identify AFK players automatically in future.

this got hit with the typical rom hammer going to far one way or the other and should have fixed the blue side issue before doing

☑ The ‘Hall of Chaos’ opened its doors.

they did with issues and late this would have helped keep a lot of the endgamers around for awhile longer if was brought out while the rewards were still more viable as is they are good now but next level cap or so and not worth doing

☐ By the end of April we will open the doors to the ‘Moorlands of Farsitan’ zone. At the same time, the level cap will increase from 95 to 97, and you'll have access to not one, but two new instances.

ok hope it goes smother then the other zones and instance will not be delayed

☐ Around Easter, the ‘Mirrorworld’
will arrive including new mini-dungeons. This feature will be of
particular interest to high-level players, and promises loads of great
rewards.

overall works great a few issues with people crashing and think reset cost of 75 diamonds a little high. communication could have been better on this up to release it sounded like a permanent fixture in the game not just weekends and when we feel like it. and still a few issues with the cendril pets droping there stat bonus but thankfully we have members of the community that was able to come up with a fix temporary or permanent we will see

☐ We've put a lot of work in our new shop,
which will be launched in the next couple of months. Thanks to a much
cleaner interface, it's easier to use, and also comes with overhauled offer periods and a reworked Wheel of Fortune. We look forward to your feedback on the changes!

there is anther thread on this so won't list all the problems i have with this but overall this has to be one of the worst changes made since they nerfed scouts into the ground that took a few years to get fixed so hope this doesn't take as long it doesn't have ti be the old interface but this is a mess and not even gonna talk about the wheel .

☐ It's high time that the siege wars
dropped their beta status. The most important thing for us at the
moment is to reduce the number of connection drops and the amount of lag
as much as possible. Thanks to your help in the most recent tests,
we're a good step closer to our goal, a target we would like to meet
this spring. Another point on our to-do list, even if it doesn't count
towards changing the status, is to work on a sophisticated system for
allocating opponents. We've also got plans for a new map and attractive
rewards to add to the fun of the siege wars.

several things with this
#1 being don't screw this up a large number of your players now only play just for siege (i'm slowly getting to that point).

#2 taking siege out of beta also means gf needs to take more of a hands on approach on what happens in siege and define what is allowed and not none of the grey area. (one of the reasons frogster had the beta tag placed back on siege was they could not monitor or actively enforce a lot of the rules during siege)

#3 new maps less lag all that is nice but need to go further look at how siege gear really works and skills while in siege i know a lot of the gm's if not all of them are players don't be afraid of taking there feedback along with player base even if you have to roll out parts in stages do it just please get it right i would rather see the changes coming later and be right then sooner and make things worse then the 1 shot meta it is now.

Conclusion: In 2016 we won't
only be concentrating on the game, but on you the players. We want to
work together with you more closely, communicate more openly, and make
our inner workings more transparent.

We've got big plans, and we're ready for a fresh start!
i would really like to think you are and have seen a lot more from the gm's which i would like to thank for there thankless jobs but for those that things get passed to there really does need to be big changes both in the game in communication with the players if the game is survive and maybe grow again as things stand now that is not happening.
just my 2cents from a old tired player

Please don't include me or many other players in this "Letter from the rommunity"

It's you and a few other players opinion.

They've done nothing spectacular and with this last patch really pooched the game.

All they are doing is forcing free players to leave and going to rely on the few paying players around to keep the game going.
Probably by this time next year, all ROM players will be on 1 server.
