Rogue/Champion skills and rotations..?

Hey all, been playing R/WLK for the past few months, and I absolutely love it!

Though now been experimenting with R/CH because of its cool looking trap/mechanism elites.

'twas wondering if any of you had experimented with the skills? I've got a few questions that follow,

1) Level 70 elite, Electrocution Mechanism - states: Creates a mechanism at the caster's location that continuously releases electrical shocks to enemies within a range of 60 at a maximum of three targets per second. The electrical shocks inflict 500% main hand weapon DPS for 20 seconds. (This skill stat will increase and decrease based on equipment and target strength) (Affected targets will be in a state of Electrocution.)So what I'm wondering is does it really hit 500% main hand weapon DPS EVERY sec? Or does it do 500% over the time span of 20secs?
Now, what I am also wondering is does the elite skill "Silent Rune Bomb" silence everything for 11 seconds maxed? Because I've tested it against my mage, it not only silences for ~3 times as long on players, it seems to silence every mob and or boss.. ** Haven't tried it in HM and higher level instances,** but it does silence a ton of other bosses/mobs/etc, and they do not seem to cast any of their actual spells while the skill is in effect, Drops a Silent Rune Bomb that inflicts 80.0%..510.0% main hand weapon Non-Elemental Damage DPS on most targets in the area. Also carries a Silenced effect for 4.0..11.0 seconds.
And lastly, the skill "Mechanism Activation Spike.." This skill is primarily why I wanted to try out R/CH.. with that buff on, (Lasts for 5 seconds) (Each time an elite skill is used, your next normal attack will cause extra damage. Lasts for 5.0 seconds.) BUT every time I use an elite skill it triggers, automatically puts another exact damage white attack on the target. and I can increase my base attack speed by 25% with all my elites and my rotations (when in burn) + Fervent Attack, 2 Raids, Frenzy Potion, Fire Training and Soldiers Attack, and that was not including MAS that adds up that amount and doubles it.. last time I checked I was hitting 12-14 white attacks per second, also counting I didn't even have everything that I listed..


I guess what I also wanted to know is if this class is stated properly with "on par" level gear and TP, could it be considered viable?


*NOTE*
When I am in that "Frenzy Phase" my non critical attacks end up being about 3-4 times as strong as they are in non burn.. Let alone critical attacks...


So if any of you can answer, it would be greatly appreciated. For the time being, I won't make any rash decisions, and continue playing R/WLK for SW, Instances, and I'll try to test more on R/CH while I'm bored and have nothing to do..

I do not play R/ch nor do I have a R/ch to test things out, but here is what I would say based on the skills descriptions. It sounds like it is every second and not 500% over time. usually skills that do damage over time are not stated as a % but says does X damage instead. I'm assuming the silence effect is the same to the skill silence mages have and it affects all the ppl in the area making it very potent in siege. Imo the problem with mechanism activation spike is that during a fight it's likely to be wasted on a white hit making it almost worthless.

You do not need 2 raids, the one you have in your offhand will only increase the attack speed of your offhand and not change anything to your mainhand dps from which your skills damage is calculated. Also, fervant attack and frenzy potions do not stack. I would recommend you use strong stimulant instead of fervant attack since 25%>20% and extinction potion instead of frenzy potion.

As far as the class viability I would think it would not do to great on hm, depending on if i'm correct about the answer to your first question or not it might be a ok class or a weak one as far as endgame pve goes. Either case it shouldn't be able to compete with r/m as r/m get 1.2k% dps per second from white hits and have better steroids with illusion blade dance. If i had to guess i would say it might be like wd/s during burn best case scenario. from a pvp perspective it seems the class can do alright, it brings a lot of utility. Obiously only a guess and you would have to test it out to know for sure.

Never seen one before, never came across a r/ch.

I do have questions for you. How do the traps work? Does the trap just show up instantly and activate instantly, or does your toon bend down, like when putting an eye/trech down, to place the trap?

And the bombs, do they work like Enlivened Blade or Thunderstorm or any targeted AOE skill?

The bombs look super sweet in siege, aoe stun and silence with pretty good %dps damage? looks pretty cool

@SHAYdynasty--Yes, the r/wlks in sw are extremely mean.. Like hitting a person with PvP gear in sw for ~350-375k give or take.. its just insanity..

@pachat93, As for the r/ch, I'm sorry if I didn't specify the actual potential of Mechanism Activation Spike as I should have...

Mechanism Activation Spike does not disappear after 1 singular white hit, instead, it stays for the duration of the small 5 second buff.. It could be better...but, if you were to time your rotations and set off an elite mechanism attack off every 4-5 seconds, the buff stays for the duration of the fight, and with the actual effect in mind, that's basically another white hit, every time you while hit.. Which can be considerable, considering end game rogues hit their white attacks 300-350k, (and their hit "ATTACK" is usually 3-4 from the top (considering which r/x class you are.)

Also, I do know that Frenzy and Fervent do not stack, I was just listing buffs to give an idea of what I was doing..


NOTE: I don't know if I mentioned or not the Nerve Gear function the r/ch has..

Basically the nerve gear skill that the r/ch has is quite like M.A.S. instead, (for the same duration) it increases physical attack speed by 3%, and dodge rate by 2%, but this stacks 5 times and STAYS at max stack if you keep using an elite skill.. (Comes in handy with the 60 elite skill..(reducer of elites when other elites are used.))

Also, back to @SHAYdynasty, the bombs can be placed down exactly like T-storm, Enlivened Blade, etc.. And yes, they can be put into a macro just like T-storm and all other placer AoE's can.. Infact, its quite "mean" as well when they're silenced for 11-12 seconds (skill at level 95) and stunned for another 5. its pretty sad and evil if you ask me..

Overall, I have had a bit of time over the past couple weeks or so to test it out with an open mind and hardcore running, farming, etc.

I believe it can be pretty good in both pvp, and pve if statted appropriately, and with my special macro heavy rotation I've crafted myself :thumbsup:
