The item shop was one of the few things in the game that worked right and had no complaints (the only problems were people wanted items added) yet they spend untold money and computer specialist's time to mess it up. While ignoring the many problems with the game that were brought up constantly. The knowledge of the community needs shows why there are less and less people playing ROM.

Someone asked to purchase 60k charges from me on the charge sale, I said sure, it was a 50% off charges, and 140% dias sale, so figured id go buy dias and gift them 1200 x 50 charges packs (300 at a time). Well good thing I remembered that the IS is a pos now before buying those dias and spend 24 hours gifting charges. GG gf, super good business plan on trying to get dias sales. $500 lost to incompetence, and this is just one small case out of all the dias sellers.

Another thing that i noticed, when i open the itemshop in game, a firefox page comes up and i can use the item shop in my browser. Also when i look in my Windows task manager, i get a process called : Awesomium_process.exe*32. Close the web browser, open the IS again in game and it works.

But if i close that process in task manager, i get the web browser pop up witn Error LMAO, but no worries, i am sure the new IS is perfectly safe people.

Gameforge could at least sell the Purified packages with 5-10-20 puris, instead of selling 1 by 1 which is a pain for anyone. Wtb purified packages sale with +140% dias

Yet every time you log in you see the brag of Item Shop Cosmetic changes. It doesn't work so they brag about giving it a new paint shop.

Ah, I believe you may have meant "where the players asked for a change to the item shop to be what it is today". Apologies for the mis-read.

Obviously there was no such thing.

As mentioned by Polog somewhere (sorry, can't find it at this exact moment), the item shop is now entirely run by Gameforge. It is designed to be "universal" throughout all Gameforge games (eventually). I believe it was rolled out in one other game before Runes of Magic (don't quote me on this though, this is as I recall which could be wrong).

The main advantage of this is that the backend and design is all the same, "templated". This makes the management of the entire item shops easier as there is one place to change sales, change items available for all of Gameforge games (again, eventually). Gameforge now can change any design of the item shop or any part of its interface or behavior without the game's developer or even a server shutdown. Previously any major change to the item shop had to have the item shop "restarted", which also included the houses, guild castles, guild managements and Auction house. This would also lead to many other problems if this needed to be done.

Note: The following is going to be my honest opinion regarding as I see things from a player's perspective with giving you as much information about the backends as I can (which isn't much)


My opinion personally is that I can see good things coming, although they may not be here yet. The people back at the office have listened to us and changed a few things based on yours and my feedback as a player and as a teamler. As we continuously have to remind everyone around here, we do play the game as well. We could be in your guild. We could be your best friend. We could be your worst enemy. But we do play the game and we do forward feedback of our own directly to the management. Do they get implemented or even considered right then and there for implementation? We aren't told that. I do know they listen. We talk to the management live in IRC or Skype, or even Teamspeak and we get that feedback almost immediately of "we're working on it", or "we're looking into that". The management is listening, they may not follow up on every thread, or even be able to implement every little idea, but the ideas/suggestions/rage/comments are being forwarded or even directly being read by Celes and/or Polog (and we direct them to these threads even if they had seen them twice already).

Yes, this Shop system in shorter or further future will be probably used in other GF games too.
Currently, not every game has it, as they are not released/implemented at the same time.

Examples of others game would be - as far as I remember - 4Story or Metin2, they got it before RoM.

Here ya go Aqua. Not Polog, but Celes reminded us that this move is motivated by an interest in standardizing the item shop across all of GF's games. Having one program to run the back end instead of one for each game would be gud cause for an overhaul game-by-game.

We do forward your feedback. Usually we forward an entire live thread, as it's being created by the playerbase. It's part of why we have so stringently required that all the posts be constructive and otherwise 'clean' (no bashing, swearing etc). It's not about suppressing people who 'speak the truth' or squashing contrary opinions. These threads can be blunt, but they need to be just the problems, the solutions, and the required actions. Keep in mind that the reader probably speaks english as a third+ language. Additionally, we list our own concerns and observations elsewhere. We do our best to describe in excruciating detail exactly what is wrong for each bug, and why it must be changed to restore old functions to a new interface.

If you think the players' posts on the topic have been harsh, you should see how exactingly brutal (but constructive!) a group of cooped-up and angry teamlers and testers can be. No, we do not and will not post our discussions outside of team channels, but know that we do have them weekly if not daily. Ask Celes sometime in PM if you want a general description. I marvel at her ability to deal with so much raw frustration.

We don't need your very best Navi impression to keep us on track.

But please let me explain one thing once again, New Item Shop is with us permanently and there are no plans to bring old item shop back. It is gone, sorry...

NEW item shop (name speaks for itself) was implemented to one of our MMO in practice for less than 1 year and its shop was the base of the new shop concept which allows us to do different configuration easly. We know some of you did not like the design but it always takes time to get use to see it.

And we can not ignore that the team behind it take your feedbacks very serious and changing some stuff as you requested, more will follow in future.

Afaik, the shop display have a dynamic scaling if your resolution is bigger, if your screen is 1920*1080 or 800*600, the shop will have the different size. So YES new shop design has a new font but size depends on your settings. Which resolution/options do you use in ROM?

all you have to do is sell +20 jewels outside of the item shop and probably most everyone will stop griping about 75% of the issues....

yea theres plenty of other issues, but im sure in time you guys will fix the buying and gitfing in bulk issues.. all these issues seem really easy to fix to me, but i am no gamemaster so i cant talk

Cerb the issue is sure easy to fix, they've been at it since the new IS has been out

I see a much bigger issue with the purchasing and gifting of single items at a time, add a text box, let us type a #1-999, and hit gift or buy.... and when it is bought stack it on the same item in your back rather 'your bag is full'.... No duh its full, thats what happens when you can only buy 1 thing at a time and it chooses not to stack together!

800*600 with window mode and UI scale checked, just like I have since I started playing RoM. Have no issue with font anywhere else in game or out. JUST the IS.

This explains your problem. As i said, new shop has dynamic scaling, please give one more chance to the shop in bigger resolution
