Excessive Crashing of Siege

we lost 5 people in siege crashing tonite,... five different people,
one night we lost our herald to crashing 7 times, the next nite he was stable and i crashed four times...
i have seen the enemy heralds crash

so im taking a casual poll of you who siege, have you seen excessive crashes of usually stable members/clients
i believe it started maybe 3 maintances ago or so
i ask from erebos server

overheard in guildchat: "Its RoM if you're not lagging, you've crashed" "from your lips to frog's ears"

not seen excessive crashing for a while, but I do know what you are talking about where just that one night, I'll crash non stop through out the siege. But it's rare. so not saying its not possible, its just very unlikely, at least for me

Running 4 clients every siege and never crash, what you can do to help though is have 2 interface folders and 2 addon settings that you rotate for siege. Just remove all unneeded addons for siege to help improve for and lower crash chance. That being said. There does seem to be sieges where it's your guild vs the game, where everyone is crashing every 2mins. Just bad luck I suppose.

Could also be your ISP supplier, problem with switch or hops along the way to servers. I ran 21 clients in siege VS a Erebos guild the day and not one client crashed, faced a Mithras guild and had 5 clients crash on me and they were not even in the same siege. A lot could be the cause of it and i am not saying it couldn't be the game for you.

I would say it isn't as much about siege as it is about another expansion, at least for me. Every time a new zone is added I have more trouble staying connected, no matter what character or zone I am in. I have made a second copy of the game folder on my PC, and turned down the video on the second one as far as I can get it. I use this for my "also- ran" characters, whether for siege, dailies or bag-drop parties. It only helps a little for the low-video characters. In a mediun-high resolution, the lowest I can tolerate for any length of time mentally, I still get lots of crashing. I don't know why this gets worse with every expansion. I don't think the client is running the entirety of Taborea at one time, but sometimes it feels that way.

I have noticed that when in siege I still get the notices in my chat about the public event starting and stopping in whatever zone I entered from. If the siege "instance" is not separating us entirely from the zone we are in when we enter, I can see how that might be part of the problem. Try launching siege from a really quiet location, like the little spot of land on the far side of the lake from the Distillery (don't everyone go there at once now!!!)

Further suggestions for siege

This also helps:
Before going in to siege adjust your camera angle to as close to vertical as you can. Then use the mouse scroll to drive the camera down until all you can see is the couple square feet of ground you are standing on (or your mount is standing on). Again- this tends to imply that part of the problem is that your character is actually in 2 places at once, the siege "instance" being one of them.
