Weekend Drop-rate boost events

This weekend there is another drop-boost event. The biggest problem with these events is hype-vs-reality. As always we see in the forum an announcement that promises
"Between 12.08.2016 15:00 CEST/CET and 14.08.2016 23:59 CEST/CET, there will be a +100% boost in drop rates! Do not miss this opportunity to get shiny new equipment for your adventurer's training!"
We all tend to take this to heart, run instances, and get the same drops at the same rate from bosses that we always get. The boost in drop rate only applies to stuff that half of us end up selling to the merchants, and the other half leave on the dead mobs. There is no increase in useful "shiny new equipment". There is no improvement in the likelihood that we will complete a gear set or an ISS.

Boooo!! Hisss!!

Be nice if they could change the droprate on HD gear during such an event, because except cards and thr essences from thr halls, drop events are largely useless.

These announcements always make me laugh. Like I know it's basically a form letter but seriously whoever wrote it clearly has never played or they would know that drop rate events do absolutely nothing to help people get new equipment. They're a very very niche event. If it increased droprate on OD they would actually be useful, but then they might lose money on golden hammers oh noe.

Quoted

i remember when i saw this comment associated with the event, and thought about the same, i mentioned it in irc, i did not see how it was applied since, bosses a drop a set ammount that is not affected by the lootevent?

and as a card farmer i would be of a small population to take advantage of the event

another thing that disturbs me is

during a exp/tp event we can mostly visiually figure if we are actually getting the ammount

it is much harder to see if the ingame loot buff has been applied and actually is lasting the ammount of time it is, these are VALID thoughts since a couple of the xp/tp event did not occur when they should or last as long as they were suppose to

Only way I ever noticed if a drop event is working is if hoe was open, since you can actually notice the greens dropping a lot more. But outside there, there is no way to really tell.

Drop rate event is pointless unless your farming hoe we all knew this it would of been logical to make it increase odds in od but this is rom a game which refuse to give tp on quest
