Why do you play RoM? What is your motivation? What makes you enjoy playing ROM? I'm curious as to what sorts of players this game is currently attracting.
There are no wrong answers to this where we will clearly have different perspectives and needs to meet our 'fun' demands. Some are the... 'I like to smash bosses with little to no strats needed'. Whereas others are the complete opposite... 'I like bosses that are strat heavy that can't simply be burned.' Or... 'I like to try the hardest instance possible' vs. 'I enjoy running low level dungeons'. Etc..
Why I continue to play has changed throughout the years. I used to enjoy the group raids taking down the hardest bosses...but now, not so much. Really, I haven't done any instances for a while now and that is 20% due to the high level playerbase mentality of 'needing' to hit some sort of DPS threshold, 50% to the game makers on current general dungeon mechanics, and 30% due to not having as much time anymore. As a result, I'm more interested in features like:
- The occaisional siege war. I rather like going against unknown components as to what they will do. Humans are much harder to predict than any 'A/I' that is typically offered in this game. Their patterns of playstyle can change and adapt as well. Countering those changes becomes a good challenge in itself.
- Taking down random mobs in the game and then finding cards! Some know I got quite the collection.

I find this relaxing of sorts too when compared to others watching some silly drama TV show.
- Doing non-daily quests for leveling. This doesn't last long though as I'm usually either out of quests or at max character level quickly.
- Improving my character through improved gear and stats...sort of. I've become
MUCH more lax on this though. The plussing process is just...rediculous and that alone has significantly changed my definition of 'fun' with RoM. I'm more likely to just buy something off AH.
- Able to play the game for free (although I paid for diamonds looong ago), yet able to get most diamond content from other sellers if needed.
- Social aspect where able to text chat with others and listen in on other people through voice chat devices.
- There is no real 'end' to this game (compared to board games).
How about you?
