level cap questions

what is the level cap right now?
when you hit the cap, do you continue to get experience?

I ask because my character hit level 98 and it seems like I am still accumulating experience.

Only if you do gathering, I believe.

Yeah, when you hit level cap, you stop getting exp. But gathering for some reason doesn't apply to the level cap exp.... If you wanted, you could just keep on gathering and gaining exp..... have done this ALOT.... In game wife STILL threatens me with divorce everytime I tell her I am getting exp. Oh wait... thats cause I have 6 classes and keep them leveled with all my resets that I buy...lol

This is true only gathering accumulate experience after level 98.

I attached a screenshot of my characters class list, it shows that experience in both classes at level 98, I do not gather so I don't know how I got this experience based on what everyone has said so far.

The amount of XP gained after hitting 98 is not outside the scope of the quest that tipped you over into level 98.
If a quest gives 1000xp but you're only 400xp from level 98, you'll then show as being 600xp into level 98. Your XP gain will then be 'frozen' until the next cap raise.
As has been mentioned though, if you take up gathering, you can gain small amounts of XP from there.
