off hand damage

how good is this?

like when picking the 2 sub sets from rt yawaka and lenki or something.

1 is dmg set and 1 is offhand dmg.

tbh its roughly the same... people normally go with yawaka because it has a higher crit rate. But in the grand scheme of things the two sets are pretty much the same dps wise, just go with whatever you can get OD.

I've been slowly making gear for a 15 second burn focusing on offhand damage %. With the max offhand % buffs, you can gain 33% offhand damage.

The only time ive ever burned while prioritizing my offhand, I got roughly 100k more DPS with the offhand with only my 3% yawaka's blessing, but that may have been crit chance (I was also using a tiered ToY instead of a statted dagger).

So i'm hoping to make a macro to equip offhand gear (lekani) for the first 15 seconds than swap back to my main DPS gear.

33% offhand damage consists of having the full grafu set (10%), the full lekani set (10%), the lanaik set-skill (called Sneak shot which increases offhand damge for 10% for like 20 seconds) and then yawaka's blessing (3%).

Which begs the question when you get that 33% do you equip a tiered dagger? ATM my off hand is a clean T6 thorn of yawaka, my white attacks are usually at 35k range

You would almost want to do a clean T7 dagger with speed runes on both to get the extra white attacks in.

That will be interesting to see what kind of white damage you can put out.

When I try this out, i'll be using a t8 juggler throwing knife (not clean tiered).

I think clean T7 would be optimal.

I have a clean T7 Yawaka Thorn and it is a lot of damage. Concentrating on off-hand damage could do a fair bit more.

I have seen a clean +16 T8 Juggler's (better than a dirty T10 + 12), with the set's for offhand damage (+ speed runes), and it is significant...

We have a few people in our guild who are also testing offhand dmg increases and how much it really does help with overall dps. I believe the off hand dmg and having to add an extra skill into your rotation during burn is not that beneficial. Seeing as every boss in SC and GC hard are easily burnable, except for Annellia, your offhand is really not that significant at end game when most bosses are being burned.

Offhand dmg for r/s is really only significant past the burn phase. The sc skill is ok but in my experiments using it, actually lowered my dps as I am wasting time hitting that skill rather then spamming low blow. So instead of criting with low blow for say 300-400k you would rather hit a much lower dps that will increase your offhand dmg 10% during the burn phase? IMO it is not worth it. Low blow hits are more important then using the sc skill set. With global cool down, the fewer skills that you have to hit the tighter your rotation will be and the more dps you will do during your burn phase.

Priority should be hitting your highest dps skills as much as you can while energy thief is up, I.E. blind spot, low blow, wound attack. When you put another skill in the rotation that does less dps then your primary attacks it will lower you dps, even it if is increasing your offhand dmg. Highest dps Main hand attacks are your priority and always should be. I would take a Low blow or blind spot attack any day during the burn over hitting the SC skill set attack.

Even though I have written an opposing view on offhand dmg, I am still very interested in this testing process and along with Bleedingblack I will post what my guildies discover.

those set bonuses say OFf hand damage rate.

it doesnt actually affect the off hand damage per swing it effects the rate at which your offhand strike. basically offhand atk speed.

its dumb how its worded but that is what it actaully does. so 33% off hand damage rate means 33% more offhand hits.
White hits and offhand damage count for alot for a rouge. in a fight it should typically be in the top3 atks with the most overall damage.

However stacking the offhand damage rate you will give up other stats such as crit which is WAY more important.

But if u can do it without sacrifices anything by all means do it:)

Only thing I have to say is premed > blind spot > sneak shot > low blow > wa > spam low blow.

I will only be using sneak shot once during the burn, as it lasts for 20 seconds whereas my burn lasts for 15 seconds.

Premed -> blind spot -> shadow stab -> low blow -> Wound attack = greater main hand dps, since you get the third attack from WA.
