P/S DPS Rotation

I rely on my s/k sides for instances or any situation when I want maximum firepower, and p/s when I am healing. But in pvp, I've been in situations where I had to blast someone rather than heal. Also, it is the only combi of my 3 that puts out ranged dps without using arrows, and so is useful when farming or just conserving ammo.

In the latter situations, I have the following priority rotation:

1. keep matk buff and patk buff up
2. Keep Vampire arrow up
3. Rising Tide if standing still
4. Ice Blade if kiting
5. I conserve TA as an interrupt.

There aren't much abilities to shot bow with, but anything else I can take or remove from the list?

I think I might add Bone Chill to that list after the Vampire Arrows, having both DoTs running at the same time never hurts :). It also helps to have any Magical attack or Magical damage foods going too.

Just spam Ice Blade. If you need DoTs to kill someone, you need to stack more matk and mdam.

My rotation is Buff up, then RT for openers, bone chill, vamp arrow and ice blade to kite around. Start over if needed.

I like to keep my dots up because they keep nibbling away at the boss while I heal, so I contribute to a run with heals and dps.

Ice blade is the best kiting attack, just can't be beat by anything in the priest arsenal

Anything that cycles your global without the damage equal to IB in that same GCD is a waste.

DOTs are only useful when going out of a cast skill. Otherwise, its an overall DPS loss in PVE.

In PVP, DOTs should ideally be used to keep out of range damage on the target. Any other time you are wasting a burst global on long term damage which is at best uncertain. Say the 5th tick of Vamp Arrows never popped in the time a target dropped from X, Y, Z attacks- you wasted your DPS time on that target vs. Energy/GCD cost.

The insane gear-modding feature has that one-percent spending oodles of cash regardless of whether they can do the content without it. Why? Because RoM created an awesome system that lets players become as super-powered as they see fit. There are already groups of players that can down Manticos in as fast as five seconds. That's far above what's needed to be able to experience that level of content.

I would add Bone Chill before Iceblading Rogues, just so that they can't Vanish away.

Stack cast speed buffs like all mages and spam rising tide, after they start to run out spam ice blade if u want to max your damage for boss fights... When you stack cast speed rising tide cast will go under 1s and with fact that single rising tide will hit bit harder than single ice blade which has gcd to hold it back, your maximum damage will increase slightly during burst.

But don't expect to be any top DPS during boss fights. Sadly enough even for mages when they stack all their buffs, mage dmg will increases like over 700% from normal dmg just to keep up with other damage classes for couple seconds. Thing is that with same staff/mdmg your and pretty much all spells will hit around same damage than any same cast time spell with same element bonus regardless of class as magical damage has so big effect on formulas over anything else. What priests lack compared to mages are real bursting skills or aoe's where they will fall behind mages, but at least you don't have long fireball flying animation before actual hit and long CD to delay ice blade spam in PvP. (*wink* hos/gc mage set skill animation to damage works bit different). The moment when priest are better casters with same amount or more spells than mages, caster classes in this game will be completely f***ed up anyway.

As, suzuki said, unless any instant gcd dot spell with all its dots count together over damage one ice blade they will just waste your maximum damage even thought it might be nice to annoy people with them in pvp. Only thing low dot will increase will be momentum damage (example. ice blade 30k hit + 1k dot spell both together make 31k short time which might look nice in scrutinizer, but this isn't same thing as pulling out maximum damage output when you could have pulled 2x 30k hits in same time skipping dot spell).

I honestly thought this was a troll thread when I saw the title.

Seriously though, in PvP hit the ice blade button of your choice and tab until everyone/thing you want dead is dead.

PvE might be different, but I don't see how. If I'm to believe what a 23 page thread tells me, IB spam works just fine for dps there too.
