M/S Elites question

So I've recently dumped my secondary class as a priest due to obscene mana consumption and overall incompatability and replaced it with a tasty scout class for mongo-dps.

Looking over the elite skills that I've acquired I can't really tell which ones are good and which ones suck pango 'nads. However on closer examination of the Fire Rose and Fire Rose Explosion, I came to the conclusion that each of those skills acts as a DoT version of Holy Strike and a long range Punishment respectively which I am quite happy to use on elite or boss mobs. '

I guess my question is: what other M/S elites are good?

Fire Rose is a pretty solid DoT, but I would also use Electric Bolt and Vampire Arrows, since that way you can have three DoTs going.

As for the rest of the elites,Thunderclap is pretty useless since, as a mage, you already get lightning and discharge. I've never used it, but it could be ok when running away from a mob when your lightning and discharge are on cooldown.

Fire Arrow is probably the best one that M/S gets. With that buff on and my shot at level 50, I can hit for almost as much as fireball.

Fire Rose Explosion is a decent skill, although it's kind of a waste of the Fire Rose DoTs unless you time it right (i.e. just as the Fire Roses are about to wear off).

Flame Spirit is junk. It's cool looking, but the ability that it casts, Flame of Fire, is broken. The only redeeming quality is that you need it to get the Magic Crossflow buff, which is an amazing skill.

Power of the Wind is useless unless you're going Wind Mage, since it cancels out the Fire Arrow buff. I'm a full fire mage, so I haven't really tested this ability out (working on a wind mage, atm) but the critical hit rate (Fire Arrow) looks to be better than magical accuracy.

Since Fire Rose Storm is a passive, I haven't really noticed it, but it's a pretty good skill that increases the damage of your Fire Rose DoT.

So in short, Fire Arrow, Fire Arrow, Magic Crossflow, and Fire Rose Storm are good elites. Hope this helps! :)

I'm primarily M/Wd, but I picked up scout for my 3rd, so I have a little experience with it. Just want to clarify a few things...

Shot does not need to be leveled... you aren't trying to get damage from the physical side. Fire Arrow tacks on a 2nd hit that deals magic damage. Fire Arrow is good to keep capped due to the +crit chance it gives.

I don't know if it's "working as intended," but my Fire Roses do not wear off when I cast Fire Rose Explosion. Fire Rose Storm gives you a 15 sec buff that up your magic damage when you cast Fire Rose. It's worth capping Fire Rose since the Magic Damage buff rises with each skill level. Also, it's worth mentioning that Fire Rose Explosion has the biggest INT bonus damage I've seen (at .8, even better than M/Wd Earth Surge at .6).
