Level 70 Elite Skills

Recently, with all the new changes that have been made to the game, I have read numerous comments and threads about class nerfing. Why are we spending most of our time QQing about how one class is better than the other? Couldn't we be coming up with better solutions like adding up to level 70 elite skills. I'm sure they could throw in something each class could actually use rather than continue breaking classes that have already been out long enough for players to adjust to. The constant readjustments are not helping make the players feel comfortable with the classes they chose and have gotten used to. Adding elite skills up to the level cap (Currently 70) would give the players 3 more skills they can throw into their rotation. I hate seeing things taken away from players who worked hard for them. Let's focus on adding content and not taking away.

That's pretty much my point. They try to "fix" things that already work instead of working on adding "new" things that will rectify the situation. We're still arguing about level 55 elite skills that may give a class a certain advantage over everyone else. I'm ready for some new skills already instead of a biased adjustment based on the "class of the week". We already know the advantages some classes have over others can't we rectify the situation by implementing new skills instead of destroying the ones we've grown used to using? Why should my skill rotation change because I use the skills that were given to me when I started playing? Think about it you could give a the warrior class elite skills that fill your rage bar right off the bat with a cooldown. Or give mages a defense elite that makes them able to be playable in most instances. I'm just saying people are getting tired of using up talent points just to lose their value with a hasty patch. We all know the problems with the current classes lets create new ways to fix them instead of passing on the cost of skill reset stones (which make you lose all your bonus tp you've earned) to the customer. We can at least pretend this game is F2P. : P

Simply: No.

There are way too many things they need to do to the game and balancing before they can add more skills to this game. It would take months to implement new elite skills for EVERY SINGLE COMBO, from 55-70.

So no, in my opinion they can hold off on elite skills. Fix the other stuff first.

True statement but at the rate they're going now it will be years before they get around to nerfing EVERY SINGLE CLASS COMBO from 55-70. ; )

It will be extremely bad idea to put any elite skills beyond level 50 until new quests and zones are added for 50-70 level. At least for secondary class if not for third.
Balancing classes with existing skills is still already hard for developers let alone the new skills combos.

I know this sounds really really nerdy, but I made a list of what I think should be the 55-70 elite skills.

For every class combo.

Oddly enough, none of them are "boost this skill so it isn't borked". It's more on enabling the player to better play their class in the way it's supposed to be played. Like I gave d/w a rage generating heal that costs mana and w/s an ability like phoenix, but physical damage. Needless to say, none of the values make any sense in game. It won't stop me from dreaming though. :p

I like the idea of new elite skills, but I think FA and RW have plenty on their plates.

While new elites would be awesome (always thought it was kind of weird that elites stopped at 50 while levels kept climbing...and at the 70 cap, it just seems silly), the current elites we have are too broken for them to focus on anything else.

There are only a select few combos right now that function very well--the rest have at least a few totally useless elites, and/or ALL of their elites combine to make a combo that is not even remotely close to being viable. All of these elites (probably around 80% of the elites we have >.>) need to be reworked and revamped...until that happens, there are going to be many class combos that, while fun to play at lower levels, struggle at higher levels or just plain are useless in parties.

Not to mention those combos that literally CAN'T get some of their elites, i.e. the D/S 50/50, which breaks their best heal. Since you have to get each preceding elite in order to get the next one, making more elites before these are fixed would be very counterproductive.

Set Skills have replaced Elites. They can make one Set Skill for each class and call it good. They don't have to worry about Combos and we are left to our own to get them. We don't have to grind TP to level them they are what they are. I wouldn't be real excited to have to figure out what new Elites are worth putting TP into and grinding it up.
I reject your reality and choose my own instead!

A possible suggestion is that a new skill system be implemented, sort of similar to how set skills compared to the regular class skills.
-The new skill system will require a new currency of course, as it will not be linked to the talent points for class skills.
-The new currency needed to increase the new skills would come from events, much like mementos or justice points. Or even better, the skills would require those to be increased.

Seriously? Why not make a real gold sink and make players pay straight up gold to level up the set skills after extraction? If you use the other forms of currency, it just makes a time sink for players who don't have the time to deal with the new event's 10 seconds of glory...

Why not just do this with all skills? Make players pay gold OR use tp for each skill. It's a good way to kill a couple million gold getting a skill up to level.
