Scout Dual Class debate

I'm pretty new to RoM; just started a couple days ago. Just got to level 10 today and I'm debating over which secondary class I want. I was thinking knight because of the defensive advantages, but im worried about getting so close to enemies for the melee attacks. And I was considering mage because of the offensive and range capabilities. So I was wondering if anyone had any insight on this.
Thanks.

If you are human, go priest as secondary. The elites help you in leveling, and will help in parties in endgame. Rotation is easy at endgame (VA, shot, shot, dead enemy).

Oh cool. Thanks for all your replies. I was really looking forward to taking knight as secondary though. =[

you can take an extra class at lvl 20/20 that u can rotate out as your secondary or primary, so pick knight as ur third and problem solved

Scout : rogue : knight

Scout/ rogue one of the top 3 scout/x class
Scout / knight. good range with enhanced armour that increase your pdef.
Rogue/ scout Top burst damage class in game.

S/P is not bad but does not offer anything that makes a scout impressive at the end game relative to other combinations.

P/S, however, can be a very powerful combo if you do pick up priest to use.

If you really want Scout/Knight, simply create a new character. It doesn't take long at all to get level 10 again, and it's better to do so now, rather than later after you've spent even more time on your current character. S/K may not be top DPS at endgame right now, but has great survivability.

There's not much point in following what is "best" right now, because classes will all be swapped around in a month or two. Just play what you want to play, not what people tell you to play.

dont tell anyone, but s/p snipe is all you need for end-game oneshot fest(aka pvp) and for pve too.

also, the vamp arrows elite will keep you(and the party) alive longer.

plus, holy aura...

do not overlook s/p, p/s combo.

but if you want to be a carbon copy, pick rouge or warden secondary, as they are op too.

don't listen to anyone saying that s/p is viable end game.
it's not.

I must say that is an impecciable arguement with solid supporting logic.

S/P is viable at the end game. You gain several abilities that greatly enhance survivability such as urgent heal, holy aura, and protection arrow. An excellent class in group pve play, as the priest general skills and most of the elites from s/p affect party members.

The problem is that a s/p does offer much, besides the sniper skill, to enhance DPS which is the ideal focus of a scout as the primary class. While sniper elite skill is nice, the fact is that there is still a 15 second cooldown attached to Snipe.

Bascially for S/P:
in PvE - viable in group play (i don't mean in instances, just general group play with quests)
in PvP - a mediocre combination since other classes can and will out DPS (and even out heal) you
Ultimately, main scout is dps, a /p is not the best way to go with scout.

S/P/K is covers everything you would ever want to do in this game, and would give you a chance to try them all (before end game.) S/P, S/K and P/S solo very well. S/K and P/S are deadly in PvP. K/P and K/S are very good tanks. P/S and P/K are excellent healers. Your DPS is ranged for everything but the knight classes, and is not as high as the rogues can put out, but you will more than hold your own.

anyone that says s/p is viable end game has either never been end game or is an idiot. the role of s/p is to dps, s/p just simply can't put out high enough numbers and can't do end game instances without being carried.

Translation: if you aren't number one on the scrut, you are useless.

well if s/p can't put out dps..what can that class combo do? heal people with vamp arrows? that barely heals anything and you don't need that extra heal at all unless you have a crap healer

S/P does have Spiritual Leader and Drums of War, which help the whole party. I hear they don't stack with similar buffs, though, which is unfortunate, to say the least. I haven't actually played S/P in party, so I don't know if Drums of War scales, either. If not, that would make it a kind of broken skill too.

S/P isn't all that outstanding for pure DPS, but I know a couple of good ones, so I definitely wouldn't say it is a useless combo.
