S/P viable DPS?

I have the choice between choosing S/P which I really enjoy for the support and the fact that I don't require pots or anything to quest, or I can choose S/R. My question is, is the dps output of S/P much lower than the other scouts such as S/R and S/Wd? Or can I still put out comparable dps while giving my support buffs and vampire heal?

don't play s/p. people talk about the party buffs and stuff, but those are useless. the atk speed buff doesnt stack with strong stim. crit buff barely helps. vamp arrows heal is barely anything and shouldnt be needed if you have a healer that isnt an idiot. don't play s/p unless you are soloing dod or something.

so even if i really enjoy playing s/p it isn't useful to parties? and the dps is that bad?

What you need to know

here is what you need to know about scouts atm

s/w s/r s/wd are the current dps kings in the scout class

s/k is a pvp beast

s/p is a utility type scout that will never top scrut against equally geared scouts with different off sides

That said

Level a s/p to 70 stack 70k PA / t10 + 16 and end game bow and clean stat your dagger get upto 65% crit minimum and 75k hp unbuffed.

That makes you viable dps in current endgame and as a bonus you can keep a hot on the whole group that ticks for ~3k - also in some situtations whre instruments are on cd you can speed up a run by burning mini bosses with Spiritual leader.

Topping scrut and being endgame viable dps are 2 very different things.

If you min max and what absolute top dps then no s/p is not for you - if you dont care and what a easy to level solid utility type class then its fine.

play what you have fun with. I've had a s/p since start of open beta. at times you will be at the top of scrut, others not, depends on who you play with. grab /w or /r as a third when you feel like leveling it, and you can put out more damage if you want.

in siege a p/s is pretty much a beast as i hear, but im sure that will change. It all changes.

But the game mechanics change so much in this game, you're best off playing what you have fun at, and not worrying much about the rest.

S/P

been playing S/P since beta , really fun class never will be top dps but if you play the class well you can pull , dps, keep people alive not to mention DA tank on a boss if tank dies if your fast to react and hold him for those few seconds to finish him off ;) in the end any class is good. comes down to the player thats behind the wheel 8P.

^This.

People shouldn't even be caring about DPS.

When it comes to end-game instances, you will be doing nearly the same amount of DPS and most of the fights are strats, so forget about burns for most of the time.

Just because the buffs do not stack with Strong Stimulant, doesn't mean you can't use them after Stimulants are gone.

As well as the Crit Buff they provide. S/P is one of my favourite combinations.
