wd/w tank with aggro problems

Hi all, im wd/w tank from Sciath.

Im finishing my gear (full ardmond, full skeletical, full arcane sets). I still have to stats some pieces but atm i got 23k p.att unbuffed (i think i will reach 30k p.att unbuffed when finish my gear). Got a T9 +16 annelia blade with a hatred X and my four aggro skills are all lvl 60 (will attack, pulse, beast, double). I got serious problems to hold aggro vs my guildmates with T10 weapons (especially mages with puppet and rogues with gc knife).

My problem maybe is that skills are only lvl 60??? short of talent points...

I can only assume it has to do with the Level of the skills due to them adding Aggro per level. I'm also assuming the Rogues have X Recons in each slot available so not quite sure why they are giving you issues. Mages.....No suprise there they just got boosted so they are dealing more damage than ever.

I don't know if your party has tried having a K/p outside the instance to De-aggro the party before you enter. It's kind of a cheat but not called an exploit yet to my knowlege.:p

Btw im statting x3 sta/def x2 sta/p.attk and x1 sta/hp per item, dunno if this will be enought p.att (i think i will reach 28-29k p.att with full finished gear)

Your problem is twofold. First you should focus on leveling those skills. Maybe go grind the silent pass bandits for 30-45 minutes per day. Second, recon v runes are pretty weak. They'll (especially mages) need to get at least vii's. Do you use housekeeper or pots or madness pots? For a while I was having aggro issues, now there's no way anyone can come close to stealing aggro from me. I stat 4x stam def, 1 hp/def, 1 stam/pa. I sit around 90%+ aggro at all times.

The way you stat is fine. That's the ideal way to stat in my opinion. All I can say is to grind some TP and max out your aggro skills. Wdn/W has much more aggro production than K/x. Try to get the rogues in your guild to upgrade to recon 6's and mages to at least recon 7s and you should be fine.

As for statting, since you're a warden you have the luxury of only really needing 1 pa stat per item. 2 us just fine if you want but you do miss out on a whole lot of defend by doing that. I think starting is all opinion anyway but any end game warden tank will agree with me that 1 pa stat per item is more than enough. I still pull around 2 mil damage per boss fight with that.

I have to say your DPS classes are slacking on Recons. I would have thought Recon VII was the min now days.

I don't know if this would help you out or not but I stat kind of different for a knight and it seems to work for me as a K/r. It's kind of hard on my healers and I'm not cutting edge endgame yet and still have items to replace and stat but here you go.

Stat plan #1 (more Patk)

Stam/Patk
Stam/Patk
Stam/Dex
Stam/Pdef
Patk/Pdef
Patk/Pdef

Or Stat plan #2 (more Stam)

Stam/Patk
Stam/Patk
Stam/Dex
Stam/Pdef
Stam/Pdef
Patk/Pdef

I use both mixed on different gear items depending on if I want more Patk or Stam and to try to keep the HP up. I stay away from Max HP stats because they don't help my Pdef like Stam. I'm not sure if that's the same case for a Warden.

The only difference in the two plans is I drop one Patk for a Stam or one Stam for a Patk. I always have three Pdef,
Patk and one Dex. Hope that helps.:)

I have Done the Class switch to K/p to De-aggro the party then pop back to K/r for the run...... :)

Question since it wasn't answered in my other thread asking for 50+ Wd/W advice, what should the general statting for Wd/W 50+ be? Is it:

4x Stam/Def
1x Stam/HP
1x Stam/PA

Any advice would be great, thx.

For wardens statting it can be done with 2 pa stats but I think the most efficient is:
4x stam/def
1x stam/pa
1x hp/def or stam/hp

The reason for skipping the extra pa stat is because wardens have very high %dps skills and also have a higher base aggro modifier than knights. If ou want the highest hp/pdef skip the 2nd pa stat. But it's not harmful to use 2 pa stats. Just a different way of doing things. On a side note...knights definitely need 2 pa stats per item. I think that's where the confusion is coming in. Knight and wardens stat just a little different. So far my way works pretty well. I sit at 495k def and 245k hp. If I pop ally buffs I'm just shy of 1 million def. When I get home I'm statting a new earring. At that point I'll hit the 1mil pdef mark. :) I'll post screenshots.

Atm with foods, pet and selfbuff i get 130k hp and 230k def (440k def with coat of arms and defensive)

Ok already fixed, atm im 120k hp 220k def and 30k p.attk only with self buffs. The aggro skills are lvl 70 and now the aggro is not a problem :) thanks

I eagerly await your screenshots. Do you need to use a Hatred rune to keep aggro or can you do it without?

Hey I am not sure why you was having aggro problems before you got your skills to lvl 70. I have my skills at lvl 60 a Hatred X and I am using a T10 Kulume Blade from ToSHH first boss. I was holding aggro well with a T10 annelia and lvl 50 skills before also using a hatred IX. I think it could of been your rotation and pre-buffs. Also if a rogue is taking aggro from you they need to invest in recons cause all rogues can have 2-3 recons. The only issue you should of had for aggro was mages and warriors but even that a Wd/W can handle its own as far as aggro wise. So I just don't get it but grats on finding a way that works for you though : )

I believe he had problems because he isn't from US servers so they never got Recon VII's on sale. Most of the DPS there only have recon 5~6s compared to US's 8~10s.
