I do believe one of my guildies said that Thunder and Splitting Chop no longer share the same cooldown timer. So you should be using both.

If it's any additional help they both scale equally in the damage increase ratio, have the same cool down, have the same distance ratio, and share the same rage cost.

However, their sub-affects do differ, thunder stuns a target, while Splitting chop lower their physical defense allowing you to do more damage.

Splitting chop isn't listed as having the 1-h Weapon Requirement that thunder does.

I'm sure you can come to a logical conclusion as to which might be the superior skill even if they share the same CD.

Use both. Now that they are on seperate cooldowns i would assume it would be best to use both combinations.

Probably just stick to "Splitting Chop" becoz I want to max at least 5 skills at lvl 70 at end game without further TP required. Getting those 2 skills is good but I could also use my Keen Attack on the other hand :D In addition I heard Thunder wont work on Bosses but S/c would therefore I reckon I should go with S/C =)

Indeed, you can not stun a boss. However you want to have both because of the huge %DPS. Before when they were on the same cooldown timer a common rotation would have been Suprise Attack>Probing Attack>Open Flank>Splitting Chop>Slash>Probing Attack>Keen Attack>Shadowstab when low on rage>Blood Dance when low on rage and energy. But now you can do Suprise Attack>Probing Attack>Open Flank>Splitting Chop>Slash>Probing Attack>Open Flank>Thunder>Slash>Probing Attack>Keen Attack>Shadowstan when low on rage>Blood Dance when low on both. As a DPS inserting another high %DPS skill in your rotation helps alot. If I would only plan to have 5 skills maxed for the moment I would max Probing Attack, Open Flank, Splitting Chop, Keen Attack and Thunder. Once you get more TP you can do Slash, Suprise Attack and Blood Dance.

Thank you, very well done description and tips indeed. However, I do not lvl my SLASH becoz after following
http://forum.us.runesofmagic.com/showthread.php?t=50572 Guide I kind of understood where SLASH would cost alot of Rage, 25 rage=1/4 of ur full Rage, and that is alot whereas I could use those 25 rage to establish another PROBING attack combo. IDk its debatable but i pretty much followed his guide all the way lol. But ya 5 skills i would get are - Probing attack, Open Flank, s/C, Keen attk and Blasting Cyclone (Due to the only good AOE skill).
