Whats the cookie cutter m/p build?

Hello, Looking for the flavor of the months m/p skill build I played in 09 back when alot of the skills were different such as elemental cata let mages have no cool down on skills every 10 mins.

Now i come back few years latter and looks like every class got nerfed/fixed some what lol.

So is there any talent spread sheets with the cookie cutter mage/priest builds for max dps on mage side and best support from priest thanks. I did searching and all were outdated builds from 09.

this is the build I had in 09 http://freetoplaymmorpgs.com/runes-of-ma…agepriest-build

let me kno if its still viable or did skills get changed around to much or pep find better builds ?

I had a quick read through your build. Some of it is still relevant but damage output is now so high for most classes I would not take any of the PvP advice seriously.

The fire/wind mage thing for me sounds to much like WoW & fire/ice mages. RoM is more about balancing the 2 elements because you will be using both.

I also disagree with the advice about not putting tp into particular skills, fair enough while you are levelling but once you can spare the tp it is even worth maxing discharge (many may disagree with this but it works for me).
Nothing more satisfying than jumping into the middle of a crowd in siege, hitting discharge & killing all the low hp people while stunning the tougher ones. Saves tab targeting the weaker ones when you need to target one that can hurt you.

Things have changed but M/P (maybe add scout as a 3rd) is still a good mage & by the time you hit 70 you will know what skills fit with your play style.

Best advice I can give is suck & see :)

Good luck & welcome back.

thanks for your input, any 70m/p there that can shine some light on what most builds you guys are rollin with? I kno the all the skills and class decent other then the major changes to get use to, but I'm the type that hates spending money on reseting talent poitns and rather get it right the first time, I won't be cash shopin for a long time anyway due to real life money issues.

I would be happy enough as to list some skills for both mage and priest to avoid puting tps into or to much then I will have a better idea of what to max, I'm more into the fire dmg aspect of the mage and using the wind skills as just utility like stuns or crit increase.

And for priest is it still the same? maxing tide for dmg and elite skill makin it instant, then max out preist shield, life buff, healing over time spells correct? any skills on priest side I should avoid wasting points on?

I haven't been playing (following) RoM the past half a year, but if things didn't change dramatically, you have no reason to be concerned about mis-spending your tps.
magic damage depends on two factors: weapon damage, and skill damage. Because the magic damage equation is such that at higher levels, weapon damage is MUCH MUCH MORE IMPORTANT than skill damage for overall damage, one can say that there's little difference between flame @lvl0, and flame @lvl70.
My suggestion would be to max passives and buffs, and for other skills, raise the most important ones (flame?) to lvl 60 or so and then all others to 50.
Moreover, for mages there's practically only one damage skill to be used during boss fights... so...

That's true, not such a huge difference in most caster skills when raised as there is with melee classes, it's more gear, stats and weapons than skill level.
Melee raises an attack skill by something like 2% per level, with casters it's generally something like 2 points per. I experimented when I reset skills a while ago to establish a baseline, and was surprised at how close the damage was.
