[LEFT]Hi everyone,
I'm a bit of a noob here, and I thought scout/druid would be a good combo for my elf. Now that there are three classes to choose from, what do you guys think is a good third class? I was thinking rogue or mage, not entirely sure yet.
Also, what do you guys think about my class choices so far? I thought the druid would be good for healing while I solo quest/grind and also for backup support in dungeons, sorta healing the healer or others if the main healer is focusing on the tank...I think the rogue or mage would make up for any dps I lose by having a healer 2nd class...
Okies, lemme know what you guys think! ^__^

S/d is a good combo early on, but will never have the healing capabilities to be a patch healer like a d/s will. I'll admit, I first started off as a s/d with the false notion that I'd be able to do ranged dps and heal at the same time, well, its partially true, but more on the false side.

In this game, there exists 2 types of classes: Pure, and hybrid. Pure types (dps/heals/tank) will actually be useful later on, but due to how the balancing is in this game, certain combos are a *LOT* more useful than others. s/d dps does not particularly fit too well in the useful category, although they put out ok numbers, "ok" is not good enough at end game.

Hybrid is what I like to think of as the utility, or fun type, and again, very little room for these at end game. To be frank, s/d would not fit the hybrid type whatsoever, the healing is much too weak and insignificant.

Now, if you switch up to d/s as your main, that is a *great* healing class at all lvls of gameplay and I would even go as far as saying mandatory to have in raid at end game.

In the end, its up to you. I'd do a little bit of research, it seems like you don't quite understand the dynamics of the game/class system as of yet, which is ok, we were all there at one point. Just read through the class forums for guides, and get a feel for what each class combo does. Also, visit theromwiki.com for a brief overview of every class combo in game.

Any further questions feel free to shoot me a whisper in game, been getting quite a few recently thanks to some old guildies sending new peeps my way for advice, but always glad to help in my downtime :)

That's why I asked about the third class, because if I want to raid, I can just switch up my classes depending on if i want to full dps (scout/mage or scout/rogue) or heal (druid/scout), but does it work like that?

Yes, you can actually do that, and I apoligize, must have misunderstood your original post.

d/s-great heals
s/r-probably 2nd best scout combo behind scout/warden
s/mage- Decent dps, perhaps shines more in PvP rather than PvE
d/m-One of the few decent hybrids out there, lower healing capabilities in exchange for some dps, but it gets the job done. However, in raids everyone has 1 role, either dps, or tank, or heal.
m/d-Good dps, shines more in PvP than PvE, although it is decent at both
m/s-Again, more pvp than pve
m/r-either pvp or pve, decent combo
r/m-pvp, decent

Think that covers it. Fair warning however, gearing up 2 combos can be expensive, so if you're hoping to do so in a timely manner, be ready to drop a bit of cash to do so.

EDIT: Class to consider-Warrior, particulary for d/w pdmg buff (you'll be begged for this on every run all the time) and s/w (awesome at pvp with infinite detection ability and target lock elite for PvE)

'other' ....s/wd > s/r damage output

as for healing with s/d, as raves said the heals are weak unless you swap into healer gear to offheal, scouts can also wear cloth so it's not impossible to switch gear during a fight to give yourself decent(ish) heals whilst fight/questing

if you also want to play your d/s as healer, be prepared to invest time and resources into a second set of (healer) gear.

PS scouts require a LOT of TP so focus TP distribution on 1 s/? combi first before investing TP into another combi

PPS Raves get your pc fixed and put a muzzle on your cat o.<

I'm looking at http://forum.us.runesofmagic.com/showthread.php?t=11430 and I see how wd/s or wd/s has more damage than s/r or r/s, so now I'm a bit interested in the warrior as a third class (like Rave! ^__^) but of course I will focus on my first two classes before I get in over my head and am confused all the time lol. Plus Warrs have pretty ok damage, or so it seemed to me, I had it as a first character and played up to level 16 or 17 (or 18? *forgetful*) before I decided I didn't like the combo I picked (w/wd).
I think I'm a bit more comfortable having at least a little heals up my sleeve :)

I voted rogue :p

But honestly, i would suggest you just avoid getting your third class for the time being until you get a better understanding of the other classes and their relationship to the classes you currently have and see what you like about the potential combinations from the other players. The best way to see it is to run instances and in sw. just my 2 cents.

Stop stalking me >.<

OP: Youre always free to level up and try different combos. Its best to explore, and if you don't like a certain combo, you can always start a new char or use a Fruit of Forgetting
