I Just Need Help With S/P and General Scout Things

I've been reading multiple threads about S/P and Scouts in general since I've been playing for only 4 days now. I have a Level 20 Scout/16 Priest but I always see mixed opinions about S/P. People are saying it's good for survivability and soloing but at endgame, they won't be accepted in parties or raids (Don't know what raids are, lol). Others say it's just plain crap or that even though it's not on par with the s/r and s/wd dps, it's still ok.

I just started an Elf right now because I read Scout/Warden and Scout/Rogue are a pretty good combination but which one is the best between the 2 of them in terms of DPS?

What I want is something that will benefit me throughout the whole game i.e that it will still have it's benefits by the endgame and when I reach the level cap.

Should I stay with my S/P or create a S/Wd or S/R?

Other Questions:
1. What are the skills that should always be maxed so I can deal the best damage?

2. If I should stay with my S/P, what Elite Skills are worth getting?

I'm in the Australian server, Thalia by the way.

If this is already done, please, redirect me.

Having played S/Wd a bit myself - and so far loving it - I'm a little partial to S/Wd as the combo of choice, but my honest opinion about S/R is that R/S is generally the better go there, just because Rogues are insane with burst dps and can still semi-sustain it after that burst.

Regardless, this is about scouts.. S/Wd is definitely a shot (or, once you get Entling Offering, "Shoot)-oriented build. Doing ranged weapon *damage* on top of X% ranged weapon DPS is an insane plus that for the longest times made the combo OP as heck. Other than that, just keep most of your other attacks evenly leveled. Once you get the hang of the cycle you should be pretty well-off.

One thing you may want to know about RoM; get all your Elite Skills. That's what makes the class combo a class combo, not just a bit of a jumble-in of your off-class.

On elite skills, you actually can't just choose certain ones. If you don't get one elite, you can't get any of the later elites either. S/Wd is currently considered the "best" Scout dps. Only in certain guilds will you ever be passed over for parties. Good guilds work to involve everyone whenever possible, and class does not affect that. So if you like S/P, go for it. The class is what you make it, not the other way 'round.
