Buffs??

okay so now that im petty well statted and almost completely endgame geared, i would like to know how and what buffs i should use for tanking.im a lvl 70k/68r/52s.i dont normally buy buffs like chocolate cakes and hero pots and such although now i know im going to have to start.right now the only buffs i use are chocolate cake, wolf leg, grassland mix,and sometimes a mem aggro pot.is there anything else i should use?besides hero's.just bought some of them today.i have 170k pdef with enhanced armor on alone.with just my pet out which is only lvl like 19 i have 99-100k hp unbuffed.

also another question is what buffs dont stack/override each other?and how would i know if they will? thanks. any help would be appreciated.:D

For long duration food and potion I use Chocolate Cake, Lightly Burnt Fish, and Hero Potion. When the Countdown timer for the boss begins I pop my foods and buffs in this order. Caviar Sandwich>Resolution>Strong Stimulant>Extinction Potion>Shield of Valor>while running towards the boss, Hatred Strike. Then I begin my rotation.

egg rice dumplings for anything rt dia and up ...ur heals will thank u

at leas 65 food for endgame runs too (cheesecake, spiced fish)

housmaid/memto/alchemy aggro pot just before pull (first threaten will break it)

crit pot (memto)

crit food (houskeep or lvl 20cooking)

potion of annihilation

hero pot

housmaid pdef pot

touch of unicorn (manually cancel grace of life beforehand now...patch changed what overrides...sucks)

for GCH u will always want pdef housmaid buff over hp buff. for everything else it depends on ur pdef ^^ (GCH has loadsa %hits n its actually easier on the heals to get u to full hp if u stay within 130-160khp, so no touch of unicorn or other hp buffs before (most) fights, just plain pdef and hero pot n u'll be fine)

if u have a 2h mage with 1recon slot in party always carry tranq powder to shove in his face if he doesnt have any.

pet n family buffs are verry nice aswell

u can drop ALOT of the pdef buffs n get HP instead if u carry a rattle n use the propper title skills - let the dps use patk n pdmg partybuffs - thats not ur responsibility, u just get hit in the face n hold aggro.

guildbuffs n party buffs are optional but add up n scale up pretty nice.

also: lucky holder title ftw.

buff rota is for me (long duration foods are already going, i use housemaid aggro pot 10min so thats included)

count down to play->touch of unicorn->4...3...2..->annihil pot->resolution->crit pot->1->shiled of valor->play+rattle/titlebuff/otherinstru (depends)

during runup phase i use hatred strike and depending on the fight/burn duration shield of discipline.

dont pull with charge, some dps say it gets them "must face target" errors. also...gives u more time to use buffs at runin ^^

/me wants rice dumplings -.-

the +3000 patk shorttime food/potion should get better results than annihilation. lets face it, we dont crit, unless /rogue, and they only do because its in a elite skill. but thats all they crit, too , so more crit wont get us anywhere.

~200k HP and 400k Pdef buffed would get you anywhere with current content. So if you can buff up to that, thats more than enough for anything.

For %aoe heavy bosses you maybe even want more pdef with less hp depending how hard whitehits / fixed skill hits are. If you know which skills are magical mitigate them with Shield of Discipline (both 60% aoes of Annelia , Chapeaunoires Black Hat Detonation etc.... all magic stuff)

annihilation is attack speed n the critpots dont override as far as i know. the food certainly doesnt. otherwise yeah patk>crit by far

- Annihilation (crafter or mento food) = +650 crit (+600crit mento)
- Onslaught (crafted or mento food) = +3000patk (+2000patk mento)
- Madness (crafted or mento food) = +25%aggro (+20%aggro mento)

Those are the options. You can use one of those 3 only. I dont like the patk one, if u think crit is nothing going anywhere, go with +aggro imo. But thats personal preference only.

aggro foods wont stack with Threaten, only good for the first 2-3 seconds
crit yields no results, therefore Onslaught ftw =)

By saying you can use either one. We mean they share the same cooldown timers. So you can only use one per fight unless the fight is longer than the cooldown.

housmaid aggro pot is 10min in duration, cd is lower ;)
maybe even on a diffferent timer lol i dunno. i usually put housmaid aggro pot up just during trash, so i usually have it going when i reach the boss.

And tbh i slack alot on the offense buffs >< - only aggro problem in the game are some 2h mage and war classes and..well...tranq powder+a player on that toon who knows he'll do less dps dead.

waaaay less of a problem since the X runes anyways.
