Scout/Warden Guide Request and questions

Hey guys, I been searching through the forums and the web for quite some time, but have been unable to find a Scout/Warden Guide. If you know of any, please link me to it.

I was, however, able to find two Warden/Scout Guides:
http://novusordodraconis.myfreeforum.org…_o_t__t_41.html
http://forum.tahadi.com/showthread.php?t=29329&page=1

...but they focus on playing Warden as primary, whereas I think I would prefer to play scout as primary.

However, I'm not certain if Scout/Warden would be best for me. Also, please comment on the viability of Scout/Warden and Warden/Scout for
1. PvE (questing)
2. PvE (instances)
3. PvP
4. Party vs Solo (for all of above)

If focusing on solo questing, which would be the quickest to level? Scout/Warden or Warden/Scout?

And a question regarding elite skills, I notice Scout/Warden and Warden/Scout have different elite skills, but I wonder, are these fixed based on which you chose as your original primary starting out? or do the different sets become available when you switch primary/secondary classes at your home?

EDIT 1:
Could you provide recommendation for Scout and Warden skills to max regardless of whether I chose to go Scout/Warden or Warden Scout?

I am no warden by any means (even I have an alt that is Wd/D/S), but as far as I know people prefer Wd/S because of level 30 elite skill - Chiron the Centaur.

IMHO, Warden is one of very easy classes to play and to use to gather materials. I was able to survive in couple levels higher areas without any modified gear on my alt.

Thank you for your response. However, if I were worried about gathering materials, wouldn't I just either take up planting or have my pet automatically do it?

Anyway, from what I gather:
Warden/Scout seems to be cast pet, have it tank, heal it, and command it to atk while you do too.
Scout/Warden seems to be snipe from afar, and target usually dead before it gets to you (seems to have high dps), but if it isn't, use briar shield and charged chop.

Pretty sure Scout/Warden might have a problem if multiple units atk it (at least until lv 40, when I get Hide Scent), but what about Warden/Scout? Will the pet be able to tank multiple units? Anything else worthy of mentioning?

Anyway, just thought I'd share why I was more interested on the Scout/Warden side: With several insta casts, low cd, and rooting spells, I can cast lots of spells before a target reaches me, and as a result target would usually be dead before it does. Also, converts briar shield into offensive as well as defensive ability. Seems to provide a lot of damage increasing abilities for scout. Hide scent allows for getaways if need be.

And, I read Gryphon Bash was instant cast, with no cd, but looking it up, it seems to now have 10s cd. Can someone please confirm, if this was changed? Ei, it used to not have cd, but now does? If so, did they at lease increase the dmg to compensate? Would have been nice to have spammable AoE, spell..

Scout/Warden is higher end game DPS than Warden/Scout is. But if you don't plan on playing end game and just want to have fun, choose whichever you like better.

Warden/Scout is a DPS class, they will use Chiron for additional damage. Chiron can't tank because he dies really easy. Warden/Warrior is the Warden tank class.

I thank you got it Wrong.
Wd/s-> chirom is extremely squishy. You with heart of the oak buff tank for him, not the other way around. He hits like a truck though.

Briar shield is not super useful for scouts because if I recall correctly it's based on MH dps. Scouts rely mostly on ranged weapon so your MH dps will be bad ( and you don't have MH weapon mastery).

About instant casts to kill mob before they get to you... It's not the amount of skills but how hard they hit. But s/wd do have hard hitting skills.

For questions 1-2:
From my experiences using S/wd so far, which is still not that long, S/Wd is pretty much the highest DPS scout at the moment with S/R hovering at around the same point. S/Wd is more or less equal with other S/x combos for general PvE purposes and is at the top of scout DPS along with S/R in instance DPS, particularly burns. The big difference S/Wd does it through attack buffs and S/R does it through defense debuffs.

For question 3:
As a scout, S/Wd is in my opinion, the best pvp scout with S/K coming in really close. The main reason is due to the elite, Hide Scent. You can't hide forever, but 6 seconds of invisibility is enough to set up an attack or to buy time for a getaway plus it drops target on you if anyone did target you.

For question 4:
Ultimately, this is still a scout, so treat it as any other S/x combo for solo and party play.

For quickness of level, it's the same. It depends on how you spend your time with each class. about the elites, you can get them for both S/Wd and Wd/S.

For skills you should level, it's really hard to say since it would depend on which class you will use the most and for what purposes will you use each class for. For example, if you plan to play as S/Wd and only play warden to level it up, then only put skills into the Warden general skills then the extra on whatever you want.
