Combat master nerf!?

so Unclemarty in Artemis Server today annonuced he saw in the EU forums that they will be nerfing the crit damage of R/S from 60% - to 15%...is this blasphemy true? Do my eyes deceive me of this treachery!?

I don't have a problem with damage by rogues. The only thing i think should get a cooldown is the way they hit and disappear all the time. I would like to see that skill nerfed down. In siege i attack them and while hitting them with Vampires arrow, he goes invisible right in front of me. I think it just doesn't make any sense. They should have a 30 seconds to 1 minute cooldown at least on that, just like invisibility potions.

My opinion, don't hate me loll.

I also heard this from a guildie, as well as mention of R/K disarmament being changed from having a 3 second cool down to having a 1 sec cool down with armor breaker. Didn't read the EU post myself so this could just be rumor for all i know.

So Zidlef, your attacking him and he disappears? Since you are ""In combat" This has to be Vanish or Escape, which Vanish has a 10 minute cool down, and Escape has a 2 minute cool down.

Then why can he come in and out of that state for 1 minute? I had one the other night in siege who was doing like 10K damage on his hits and pop in and out for a bit more than a minute. Doesn't vamp arrows with bleed effect prevents them to do that?

I killed him but it was ridiculous that he did that for that period of time ;-(

I checked EU forums there are no such announcements. With so many old players playing r/s i think RW wont take such decisions.

Wouldn't change much anyway....crits on R/S would drop from 3.204 times normal dmg to 2,754 times normal dmg -> 14% lower crits....and not all attacks crit.

Hopefully they will. The range on s/r is greater than that of a mage; r/s has better secondary skills than r/m (just guessing, mind). And "old and experienced" players....will be well-accustomed to extreme changes in the game. It's merely those who can't adapt who will be at an entire disadvantage. 'Nuff said.

they have. they either use escape (2 min CD), or vanish (10 mins CD)

invis pot and hide only works out of combat.

also, combat master is not that good as it sounds in the description. it raises my crit damage by 60% BASE damage, and that is about 10% overall damage. so when i crit 110k, with combat master on i crit 125k. wow IMBA :P

Seems IMBA to me, especially when you use energy thief.

Chupuras are not a good referenze. Try it in instances and compare it with low blow by r/w, with and without berserk. Then tell me.

Combat Master is the skill that makes or breaks r/s, nerfing it would be class combo killing. Why drag down this combo? You have to have a lot of things come together for it to have the massive impact that people think it has. High crit rate, skill maxed at 50, rings +'ed up, tiered mainhand, actually crit, etc. A lot of these items take a big investment in time and/or real life money. Other class combos have a good skill like this (p/s, wd/s, m/anything with speed buffed flame). Instead of nerfing r/s how about we look at the class combos that need something to make them more viable at endgame. Example r/m - no skill that scales to be that killer skill at endgame.

Actually, wrt to other combos, the difference is more evident when rings are not yet plussed, because +60% is of base damage. So if you normally do 130% damage when crit, without plussed rings, with combat master that's 190%. 190/130=1.46x, compared to when you have both rings plussed 300% vs 240% -> 300/240=1.25

So without rings plussed, a crit hit hits 46% stronger with combat master.
With +16 rings, crit hit with combat master is "only" 25% stronger.

btw i wasnt meaning just the general crit damage. im meaning the buffed crit damage from Combat Master r/s elite.its at 60% right now and i heard it was going down to 15%..
