Battlemonk!

Hello!

I´ve decided to reroll as a Priest/warrior. I havent found any guide or combo to use.

Q!
1. what to put my TP on?
2. wich skill combo?
3. is 1h axe + shield best dps?
4. what heal is best to heal myself? urgent+regenerate or heal?

Battlemonk's are as rare as they come.

I am no expert, but one question I know is important is what "kind" of battlemonk to you want to be?

dps healer or tank healer?

My plan with my p/w was to use the lvl 70 mem 1h Axe that has a healing bonus ghost stat and a large shield of warding for epic defense and pcrit bonus.

Also the gear from the mem, energy and shells vendors are what i was going to use.

If you want to go for dps+heals, statting with pa, wis, stam or hp and def if you low on cash.

The battlemonk Stance and powerup are must levels.

Hope this helps a bit. I havent had much time to play with it too busy with s/w and p/s atm.

On the self heal, Regen is pretty much an instant cast, so depending on the situation you would use either urgent or heal. If you got a decent amount of wisdom and most of your gear has healing bonus then urgent should be fine. Otherwise dont feel restricted to one. if you can afford the extra 1s to cast heal do it :P

The power of the P/W comes from the elite skills. Until level 25 elite was learned, I played my P/W as P/none.

The Battlemonk Stance cripples ability to heal and I rolled a P/W to crack some head and not to watch others do the same, so I put my TP mainly into the elite skills, Grace of Life, Amplified Attack, Wave Armor and the 1sec HoT (forget the name, how embarrassing).

I haven't found much of a skill combo to use with P/W since most of the skills are Instants and do not use any debuffs such as Weakened or Vulnerable that the W/whatever needs. I'd say just play about with the skills until you find what you prefer.

1H axe & shield allows you an extra set of stats but if you want to heal, you might prefer to use 1H Axe + Shield and a 2H staff.

The best healing skill is Soul Source due to it effectively letting you run through double your HP. For a more 'normal' heal, I'd say go with the 1sec cast hot.

... and mayby some str.

I'd recommend you avoid any stat that increases patt except patt itself. The patt gain from Int or Str just isn't worth pursuing, in my opinion.

I have found it to be quite difficult to properly gear up a P/W as nobody wanted a Priest that couldn't heal on their party :(.

I mainly do world-map quests and sometimes follow my W/R into DoD or wherever to pick up the memento's. The P/W, more than any other class it seems, must rely on memento gear because hardly anything drops inside instances.

A Battlemonk is not a healer, so do not stat as such. If you want to heal then stat up another set of gear for that. You'll only gimp yourself trying to stat that way.

You're gonna want at least four stam/pattacks per piece of gear. Some suggestions...

stam/pattack x6

stam/pattack x4
pattack/pedef
stam/pdef

or a better way to look at it is to only use these stats. Stam/pattack, stam/pdef, stam/hp or pattack/pdef

Rune suggestions, Potential, Block, Revolution and Enlightenment

And the one thing you won't be lacking in is HP, so the use of stam/hp really isn't necessary.

Be aware, nobody is gonna want to take you along on instance runs, except pity runs. It is a top notch solo class though until you get to the higher levels. Problem is, you are a DPS class with the worst DPS of all the DPS classes, you can heal, but your heals are the worst of the healing classes. Your solo slog consists of long drawn out battles alternating between hitting your opponent and healing yourself till you wear them down. LOL, that reminds me of the time my Battlemonk ran up against a K/P in seige, OMG I thought that battle was gonna last forever. Meh, I don't want to be too discouraging, because I sure had a lot of fun, but..be aware.

there used to be two very good guides on Battlemonks on the forums, but I guess they got rid of them with the new forum. You might want to see if the DIYCE forum thread is still there as DIYCE was originated by a battlemonk. Oh, I'll go look. http://forum.us.runesofmagic.com/showthread.php?t=33610

Oh, hey, look, another thread on Battlemonks:

I have a question.
According to romsdatabase, It seems like [Explosion of Fighting Spirit] is stronger than [Fighting Spirit Combination] in later level with [Accuracy Halo] buff on. If so, is there any reason to level [Fighting Spirit Combination]?

Thanks

No, no reason, as a battlemonk you will be spamming EoFS tossing in an ascending dragon strike when you get the rage

So where do the battle monks make up the mana to just spam mana attack to get enough rage to shoot out a draagon every once in a while

honestly? never had an issue w/ mana or rage. Most priests have over 15k mana & EoFS costs nothing in mana. Pull some aggro and you'll have plenty of rage as well as using rage pots.

always keep EoFS maxed. this is the p/w bread-and-butter spammable. also always keep ads maxed since this is the p/w's highest damage attack.

condensed rage is also nice, but not necessary. consider it a free self heal.

condensed rage restores ( self heals ) you when you're hit. After the hit, the effect goes on 30 second cooldown. But it's a free heal.

Its a very small heal though so how does that work even in the slightest... Sounds like good heal for low lvl though

The heal is modified by heal bonuses. Back when I tanked, I remember getting self-healed for 5-8k & crit self heals for 18-25k w/ nearly no heal bonus gear.
