On paper the buffs which p/r has makes it seem like they could deal a little damage, increased casting speed, mcrit buff, fairy that increases mdam,and the ability to wipe others buffs, but their other elites are Dots that don't scale at all, and dumping TP into them seems silly when your doing 150 dark damage, not 150% but 150.
Now p/r is one heck of a healer and very fast with pet and runes, of course you can't GH spam like before without taking a hit to your mana. I'm starting to feel like I'm the only one who plays the class. Everyone has gone p/s. Funny p/s aren't the best healers given they are way to focused on spamming the heck out of iceblade.
Meh, I've been p/r for a long time and would like to see it get a boost to its DoTs if you're gonna make a dark priest give it a set of you know what's! R/P I consider a hybrid p/r I consider to be the second best healer with alot to offer a group of mages.

Thanks Gigi I added 5 mage pieces went heavy INT/MA now granted I just started playing again so he is lvl 60, but I'm hiting lvl 62 mobs for 40k with rising tide, are there any skill sets other then dalanis that adds attacks? I'll need to get a better staff down the line with runes, but I needed a switch from a level capped r/s. Healing is fun! Being a LvL 60 noob not so much ;p
