How do YOU heal?

This topic kinda came up in guild yesterday between me and a fellow druid (though this would apply to priests as well) but I'm curious how everyone else heals.

The druid I was talking to said they use healbot and have a few different heals bound to different click combinations. Now, personally, I am against this, but that's beside the point for this thread (and depending on your views a little hypocritial of me.

My personal way of healing is to have my damage skills bound to the main bar and my top bar being bound to alt+ combinations with my heals on it. I use gci (gridcliqueit) with it set so that alt+left click selects that target (everything else is default and I don't even know what they are set to). Personally, I have a hard time using the f-keys to target people in the party, and it gets confusing to me to click on them individually in raid mode. I use gci only for selection and to monitor hp across the raid (easy to see who is taking damamge for me).

So while I'm healing I just hold alt, keep my fingers rested on my heals, and select people to heal using gci and throw heals on them manually.

Curious what other setups/strategies my fellow healers use

I use Gridclikit, monitor the icons for those taking damage, left click is urgent heal, right click is group heal, that is all I need.

I used Heal Bot for the longest time.. using it mainly for buffs/regen/urgent heal, while hitting Group Heal manually.

I have recently started using GridCliqueIt in addition to Healbot.. and found that I really do like it more for actual *heals*, the two that I have XD.

I use both healbot and gridcliqueit, and recommend it for any druid. Reason for this is that nothing is automated, you're still healing, but the need to target is bypassed. Why have so many binds when all your heals can be reduced to mouse clicks and the occasional Shift key?

Gridcliqueit is awesome for cleansing debuffs. Left click=antidote, right click=purify. Hell, I even use it for buffing savage blessing.

Many people who are against addons such as healbot and gridcliqueit either havent tried it, or havent taken the time to understand them.

Makes me mad when people say you're not a good healer if you use healing addons. If you keep the party alive who cares what addons you use to do it. D:

How is what I do no different? I use more than 2 skills. That is why I don't wish to play a priest, it sounds very boring to spam urgent and gh.

Have tried both healbot2 and gridcliqueit and couldn't get the hang of it and thought them too bulky on my screen. I use no heal addons. I use Function keys for targeting, and do have to click to target the other party if necessary, heals and some damage skills are hotkeyed, I do swap out depending which secondary, whether I'm in siege, or specific boss fights.

I heal on my p/s by slowly realizing people are dying, manually clicking on them (slowly) and then fumbling for a heal that's on my hotbar somewhere. And hoping I remembered to change into my crappy dirty statted Holy Source gear. In other words, badly.

There was a raging battle about this in worldchat the other day though, when someone accused someone else of being a faildruid since they used GridCliqueit.

I dunno why that's even an issue though, since as Raves said, all GridCliqueit and Healbot do is help you target. After that, the timing and choice of heals/cleanses is all skillz. I mean, I use addons to help me dps. I use macros to help me dps. Why is a targeting addon such a big deal? It's like... wow, I can click people's names, this makes me leet. Right. Or just too lazy to download an addon lol.

If I ever decided to heal anything more challenging than RT, I would get GridCliqueit in a heartbeat. The purpose of a healer is to keep the party up. If you can do that with or without a targeting addon, you win.

I was the "faildruid" she speaks of in world chat... I use Gridcliqueit mainly for the mother earths fountain.. The way i see it if i can keep my target locked on the tank and melee i can simple right click on a mage from gridclick it to do a party heal on all of them , since it heals from the range of your target not you... as for tank and melee healing i got my friendly target set up for the F button and just spam click it hoping i miss all pets.. lol and yeh i use grid for debuffs..

Fail druid clearing tosh with possibly the only OD Giant's Heart staff on the server for a good while. Very impressive. Yeah, if they dont play druid, dont run bleeding edge content, they usually arent worth the time to argue about stuff like this. Next time they start a world shout about you, link your staff, thatll shut them up.

The irony is those who are so fervently against healers using assistance programs also use add-ons to help boost their DPS, as well as DIYCE where things are taken out of the DPSer's hands and put into the hands of the script.

Well I use diyce because I have slow pc ( very low fps) and got bad lag so there's no way I can time the skills correctly with various cool downs. Moreover it allows me to focus more on the boss adds and environment instead of watching my skill bar to check for cool downs.

I like to start with a full body self massage, slow and gentle to work out any large, painful muscle knots. My favorite place to preform this massage is in a nice warm bathtub with some Epsom salt and some aromatherapy candles, soft musing playing in the background. After I towel off, i dress in non-constricting, warm, COMFORTABLE clothing, many times this is an under shirt, boxers and my robe. Boil some water, bag of tea in a small cup with a little ceramic sugar container with a silver spoon on a tray that i've brought out to the patio. I'll sit out in the sun for a few hours, drinking tea, possibly reading a book if the mood strikes me.

Thats how I heal.

Mouse clicks woot lol

I spam urgent heal/heal on the tanks and the scouts using blood arrow. The rest of the time I am usually spamming GH and run in with soul source when necessary.

I am not against using addons, I have just never bothered with them <shrug>
