I don't see why so many people are against using add-ons for healing. Wether you use add-on's or not, a fail healer is still a fail healer, and a good healer only becomes a better healer. Good healing is all about timing and knowing who is going to take the most damage/cleansing debuffs/topping off everyone elses HP with hots or what not. I don't have the best internet connection in the world, and clicking on a button to target an ally then clicking the appropriate heal sometimes just takes too long to get heals on everyone who needs them.

I use Gridclickit not only because of the crappy lag from my connection but because it saves me from a hell of a lot of hand cramps, lol. I have it so most of the left clicks for straight up heals like recover and fountain, the right clicks for hots, then the alt left/right clicks for cleansing/MEP/body vitalization

GridCliqueIt here. Can't be bothered with taking my hand off of d-keys for function key targetting and hot-key casting. I tend to do a lot of moving around and using both hands means I can multi-task. Druids have spells for kiting for a reason.

If I'm soloing and I can hold my own I will stand and fight/heal, and I'll use hot-keys for casting. No need for targetting.

Calling out mouse-macros (which is all GCI is) is stupid because limiting your interaction is just that...limiting. Gimmie twice the capabilities and I'll use them, thank you very much.

In the General Settings, slide the "Number of Groups shown" bar to the right.

I use Healbot v 3.7.8 combined with qUnitFrames. I used qUnitFrames to remove all the normal party info and instead use Healbot's info. Then I just click on the buttons for each member of the party as I see needs arise. I don't have any experience using this setup in a raid, only 6 man groups. I don't play much, so I need explicitly labelled buttons. I've tried some of the other addons and they just didn't work for me. For me, my setup allows me to free up a lot of space on my hotbars for other skills.

+1 I always found this amusing myself.

I used healbot for a very long time, but now I just use gci. It is a flexible program which helps me heal more effectively.

I enjoy healing, and have never felt it was boring. Guess there is some people who might be glad I found ROM and not busy playing minesweep, huh? Bet there is still more who wish I was!! LOL

I have both a Priest Character and a Druid character and I find that Heal bot works best on my Druid, while GridCliqueit works best on my Priest. I just feel that it is preference really. Whichever works best for the individual.

I have always found it to be the opposite. XD Healbot seems like it would be better for Priests.

I also agree it's just preference. And just because a healer uses addons doesn't make them fail.

Does iceblading everything while in a group count as healing?..cause that's pretty much what i do, ActionBars 1-9 all iceblade ftw!

Didn't have any healing addon, 5 fingurs from my left hand on the keyboard and 5 fingers on my mouse did all the necessary jobs.. using addon or not is really depend on your own playing style.

As a priest, i spam GH until i run out of mana, then i pop a phirius pot and continue. Usually the boss is dead by the time I run out of mana again.

I heal ALL NATURALL. No add ons jsut point/click urgent heal point click urgent heal then GH.

IfI'm on P/S I usualy Curing shot Urgent urgent group heal urgent urgent group heal then curing shot again.

Also if the tank doesnt use his "sheild skills" I will put wave armor on them along with salve and regen.

Fail druid clearing tosh with possibly the only OD Giant's Heart staff on the server for a good while. Very impressive. Yeah, if they dont play druid, dont run bleeding edge content, they usually arent worth the time to argue about stuff like this. No Raves u dont have the only OD giants staff on the server, i know Merlak has had one on his druid for like a month or so and i have had mine for about 3 weeks now was just too lazy to tier it so i was using my mage staff to heal and damn the shackles staff is not far off from the giants staff in healing since it has sooo much more magic damage and as u know as a druid we get more hps on hots from mdam then healing bonus i have both at t10 and +16, the giants staff out does the shackles but not by a lot and since i need to tier 2 staves being a mage and druid I might just tier a mage staff next time and say screw the healing one. Way too costly to tier, plus, and drill 2 staves plus all the extra runes.

But back to the main topic of the thread i dotn use any addons for healing i find them too cumbersome on my screen and I like an open screen I do all of my healing manually but i do have some macros set up for certain things. I use a razor naga mouse and i have a number of buttons linked to the mouse buttons that are located on the side of my mouse ( there are 12 of them on the side) so i have healing arrows linked to #2 on my mouse so i can just press the button then click the mouse wherever i want it no need to key bind to key board i can keep my left hand free for movement or another heal like recover which is linked to #1 on my keyboard and #1 on my mouse is restore life another useful macro is for mother earths fountain I have a macro created to target myself and then use the skill so I dont have to target myself or anyone else just be where i want the heal to go off and use the skill then retarget the tank or use healing arrows or any other skill i need to it is instant so it works great. The last major skill i have linked to my mouse if group exorcism I link it to #6 on my mouse so i can just put the aoe circle wherever i want without having to worry about finding it on my hot bar or keyboard. I would suggest the razor naga or a similar mouse to anyone who wants a little more key bindings without having to use alt+ w/e key. So I myself am not a fan of healing addons as they slow my reaction time and makes a mess of my screen. I also dont think that people using heal addons are crappy healers I jsut think that people who cant heal without them are crappy healers, also I have run with really good healers and really bad healers and from what i have seen some of the good healers use healing addons and some dont, some of the bad healers use heal addons and some dont. So its not the addon that makes the healer it is the raw skill level of the player so if they cant heal properly one way or the other they just cant heal and need to change professions.

GCI has a tendency to bug out and heals I cast on targets ends up on myself so HB2 is up sometimes just so I can watch HP and for reference sake my commands on GCI are as follows

I do have my heal skills tied to the normal numbers, but I only use those when I'm being lazy and doing something else at the same time I'm "healing" (This is pretty much Rt- though some GCH.).

I once made a P/idk (c1 don't blame me I didn't lv it...only healed FA). I found using the f1 f2 ect. macros helps alot, though I no longer really use them (I'm a D/w and mainly spam Recover, Healing wind and Mother earths fountain.)

I don't have much lag at all so this works for me. Yes it may be a bit slow for some, but for me I can just Recover + Blosseming a S with blood arrow before hand and they're fine. I don't *usually have many times where More then the tank needs more then a MEF + HW combo can't cure. And thats like ToSh only for the exception. MEF I sometimes (rarily) have to retarget on mages, Healing wind I usually run in and cast on who needs it.
