So basically you think you understand how RoM was programmed / meant to be programmed even though you weren't part of the team?

Ahh, so you admit you don't understand programming and agree you demonstrated you don't really know how your skills work.

Perhaps you should download one actually showing Vanish work the way it's supposed to.

Try having one where an arrow is coming at you and you pop vanish and the arrow not hitting you afterwards. Not going to happen.

So you cant backup your claims, which everyone in this thread other than you has deemed wrong & incorrect, with any sort of evidence... and instead come back at requests for evidence with a "No, you are"?

LOL

Ill wait patiently for you to prove your argument.

Legend. Just go test it out on a fellow scout, simple and easy, but I am sure you will find the truth standing a fait distance away from you.....

Oh , side note, detection should be able to detect any kind of invisibility available in the game, if not runewaker better fix it. Lol

I never claimed to have played a rogue. You, however, pretend to have played a rogue but in reality just leveled up on orbs :D

And this begs the question... How does me not playing a rogue make you any less wrong in your attempt to mislead the general community about skills?? Oh, it doesnt.

So hows about you stick to the topic and show some evidence to support you claims about the way Escape functions?

If only... the Invisibility potion seems to be the only Scouts aren't able to see through. But the potion works so well you can't even see yourself.

Actually yes it is more credible to have actually played the class rather than to be a troll on the sidelines. . @OP I'm somewhere in the middle on this skill. I think this is more attributed to lag than anything, since ranged atks are always what gets me once I hit vanish even though it appears to have fired after I actually hit the skill. If I understood you correctly you wanted vanish to negate incoming damage allowing the atk to miss. From one standpoint I would say once vanish is hit that you should be allowed to take damage, but it not break hide. Still aoes breaking hide are one thing that mages have as utility against rogues so I can't say I'm totally for this either. I realize your original post was directed at a moderator, but I honestly can't see how the skill isn't working as intended. And for the record I play rogue ;)

Vanish is a worthless skill, considering almost any time you actually need to use it, a bleed is on you of some sort and pulls you right out of hide. Just get rid of it along with throw and combo throw. Im sure other classes have similar skills that are useless, get rid of those as well. Meh, i suspect the coming nerf to Rogues will be their way of getting rid of their skills :p

Even though your comment is aimed at flyingltj (terrible name btw lol) the irony is that I know bedwyr as a person and he is obsessive about little details like this lol. I remember days he'd spend good amounts of time testing skills with scouts and other players just to write down the evil details in his evil spiral of evil rogue-dom. HE was the one watching people's fraps videos to confirm or deny invis/speed hacks used by other players, HE is the one making charts and lists of everything down to how rogues tie their boots in the morning.

Fact is this. You leveled up with orbs around the time CoO and Xav came out. He's been playing a rogue since the dawn of time. Well, in the RoM timeline anyways lol. Rarely has he ever been wrong about something rogue related, and if he is... (hold on this is a big statement) he is man enough to admit it.

I know you may think this is a debate where he's trying to win, but he's just expressing his knowledge of being a rogue through every chapter in the game thus far. It behooves you to provide hard evidence that he is wrong. Anyone that has seen you in siege would demand it to be frank.

people need to realize that our skills are not pvp based skills.i believe that hide and vanish funtion as intended in pve setting.i will admit that i am a fail rogue.due to the fact that i dont enjoy playing it.i can play it i just dont like too.we all know that pvp is seriously lop-sidded.siege war is still in beta and we can tell.on the live feed they stated that siege is going to get some attention but it wont be any time soon.

PVP-based skills.

Hide, Vanish and Escape work as intended in PVP.

They are not there to over-power a Rogue. They are purely there to ensure a Rogue can be an assassin... but not a godlike assassin.

I have been PVP'ing since I started playing and trust me when I say this ... PVP'ing with your gear on the line a lot more different and harder if Rogues didn't have Hide, Escape and Vanish.

There have been times, I was being hunted by at least 10+ people to stripping one of their guildies of all their gear. *sunglasses* The only way I could disappear was using Escape and Vanish. Hide only helped me when they weren't scouts (and this was chapter 3... >.>).

I already explained how Escape, Vanish and Hide work. Health, Mana, Energy and Bleeds over time are the easiest counters to any Rogue.

That is why you use Escape as a means to avoid other people seeing you while the bleeds are on. It turns your character invisible. Once the bleed ends, you smash an immune Candy, Sprint and Spellweaver and then Vanish. You disappear without a sight.

I was starting to wonder if maybe Vanish was broken. Glad I found this thread. I have tried to use Vanish many times in PvE so to escape a bad situation. However it seems to fail. I drop my combat pose but the NPCs do not. I don't go invisable and they just keep beating on me. I would have thought that if I had moved from the original point of aggro that by hitting Vanish I would drop combat, go invisible, the NPCs would loose me as a target and return to their previous position. They do seem to hesitate a brief second but I get hit again and accomplish nothing. I have even had two run away and the third stay to resume the beating I was taking. So maybe its broke or maybe it just fails from time to time... Who knows?

If you have a Damage over Time (DOT) effect on what you are/were fighting, you will still vanish but re-enter combat because of the DOT. You need to run until the DOT goes away and hope you don't get hit.
