Mage/Scout ... Now what?

So I made a mage/scout. I hear there pretty good, and incase they dont fix Druid/Rouge in chpt. 5, you know... to fall back on? But is there anything I should know first? Wanna make sure I don't get myself fixed up with another faulty hybrid... trumatized enough xD
Fire Rose's Mechanics seem really intresting added with the Explosion skill, and the Fire Rose Storm Effect.
The Fire Arrow and Power of the Wind seem like they'll give Vampire Arrow and Shot usefulness?
But ya, Pro M/S post please :)

M/S is not a hybrid class by any means. Get the fastest bow you can find so you can use Shot between casts, do not worry about damage, level or refining level. Stat your bow.
Fire Arrow > Power of the Wind (You can't have them both active), does more damage and magic crit boost > magic accuracy.
Vampire Arrow is useful up until about level 25ish and then you won't need it anymore because your other skills will be much more powerful. Shot isn't about the physical damage but the magic damage added by Fire Arrow. Fire Rose is a great skill, FRE is awesome for that burst damage with Fireball and Shot.

the only usefull skill you will get from scout shared skills is shot. because of the added magical damage you can add on to it. keep in mind tho that it is almost completly useless in siege. due to lack of patt and dex, and if u do stack enough to make it usefull then u are not gonna have the matt/int to make you a decent mage.

fire rose/ explosion is great for boss fights when you do not have your elemental catalyist ready . use it when the cooldowns on your instant casts are up otherwise fire rose is only really usefull for siege castle gates

the speedcasting thing u get from the fire spirit is decent tho with yer other speedbuffs its barely even noticeable.. like .1 second

Thank you both very much, helped me a lot :)
But one more question, i've had a few people tell me that i shouldnt put TP into Fire Rose, but just into the explosion skill,
good idea? because what i've seen so far, (i got to 30/25) it doesn't do a lot of damage, but evidently the explosion skill does.
Or is there another way? Or is it just " in time ... " sort of thing?

That's the opposite of what you should do in my opinion. I have 0 points in explosion and have Fire Rose at 70. Fire Rose is an OK DoT, but what it does for you is give you a little mdam buff that procs every 30 seconds, so that's why I use it.

While you level, you may want to use Explosion if you find it useful, but at endgame the damage buff is what makes it great, not the Explosion. When you kill bosses in instances, skills like Fire Rose Explosion are of limited usefulness because Flame > everything else. The other stuff you cast during a boss fight is intended to make your Flame hit harder or crit more (like Plasma arrow)- not to do damage by themselves. The damage buff Fire Rose gives you makes your Flames hit harder every 30 seconds or so. The DoT itself is so little, it doesn't add much to your dps, but the buff does.

Don't feel bad about putting points in Explosion if you like to use it while you level, just do put points in Fire Rose- you will want it later.

hmm sounds about right. All that i will add is that he has no choice but to put points into FR because it takes FR III to make Explosion useable. Explosion is a decent damage dealer. but im not going to lie i often forget to even bother with it. The skill hits as hard if not harder than fireball once leveled. And its really not to bad to use after burn due to the use of FR III for dot. Its just a one button click at that point just like fireball. So ehh its all about how hard ya feel like working lol. But to sum it up. Is not using it a major damage hit? Not really. Is lvl'ing it a waste of time? Not really. If you can remember to click it every time its off cd and FR III is running hell its just like adding an extra fireball into your rotation. Ohhh and recently they fixed it to where FR III will continue to tick even after Explosion is used. So ehh for what its worth not to bad.
