Help with choosing secondary class and skills!

Hello all,

I have played RoM before, and have played different classes, but playing as a priest is fairly new to me. I haven't been on since Chapter 3 and would like to know if the skills are nerfed/different or not. I am playing on a PvE server and will be playing in a duo party.

1) I don't know which class is best to play on PvE as a healer/supporting class. Now I don't just want to heal all day, I'd like to have some offensive skills along with some survivability. (Also should I invest any TP in Bone Chill or Rising Tide?)

2) If I would pick that class to pair with my priest, what elite skills should I invest TP in which will benefit in the long run, in both priest AND the particular class? (I think I will be switching sides from priest to the other class, vice versa throughout the game. I don't want to be a sole healer.)

It sounds like you want to play a p/w. :) P/W is a jack of all trades type of class: not the best tank, not the best dps & not the best heals, but able to perform all 3 duties to an extent. Think of it as a melee class that can heal a bit. The main skills that you want tp in would be:

1. Battle Monk Stance - adds up to 56% pdef, 14% patk
2. Power Up - adds up to 45% pdmg, 15% hp
3. Ascending Dragon Strike - 30 rage, 600%+ main hand dps & +20% crit rate when fairy is up
4. Explosion of Fighting Spirit - spammable since it just consumes a little mana, 300%+ main hand dps & 600%+ main hand dps when fairy is up
5. Condensed Rage - 25 rage, but it triggers an auto self heal when hit. effect has 30 sec cool down from the last hit that triggered it
6. Regen, Urgent Heal - main heals other than soul source
7. Bone Chill - I use it to pull & in the melee fight as a our version of the bleed ;)

Warrior Side skills:
1. Whirlwind - becomes our 1 priestly AOE
2. The passive strength bonus - max it out
3. Berserk - take it up to 30% to get +30% patk & sacrifice 30% pdef
4. Slash - add tp as necessary, it's a main skill early on until ADS since that's your main rage dump from there on; also good to use w/ bone chill to bleed gates

Pretty much, get the best axe you can for your level & tier it up well. Up to lvl 55, stick w/ healing gear but stat it as a warrior/tank... your main stat of choice will be any x/patk. Other stats that help w/ patk: str is 0.8 & int is 0.5. Holy Source gear has the best ROI early on since it plusses pdef/mdef fairly high. Later on, I would switch to Mage gear for the ghost int stats & from the set bonus. There is no p/w specific set gear, so we gotta do what we can.

The bonus to using mage gear would be the ghost int stats give us 2x matk, 0.5 patk. More matk = better heals & the 0.5 patk helps w/ bms. The main Runes you'll want are: Madness - patk/int, Block - stam/pdef, potential & enlightenment - +all

Main pet for this class would be a Holy Light pet w/ Sabretooth overlaid on it. :)

Hope this helps!

Just go read the priest forum, there are threads for the various different class combos. P/W is a hybrid/specialized class you may not be interested in, it is really a class combo set up for soloing. Not too sure of what you are really looking for, but I bet P/M is closer to what you want for a support class that is not just for healing (like a P/K).

Matt doesn't help with heals

For my p/w, matk helps heals. After adding Madness V's, I notice my heals are a little better. Not a lot, but it helps.

Magic attack doesn't help heals, only magic damage, healing power and magic crit affect heals

Matk does nothing for heals. Any increase you noticed with higher matk is either imaginary or due to some other change. Higher wisdom can increase heals as well, even a little.

@ OP - P/S or P/M seem like they'd be up your alley. Both can do decent damage, though P/M doesn't really have much in the way of increasing heals/adding heals (but the MP regen comes in very handy during some bosses). If you wanted to switch classes for more damage, I'd suggest P/M -- M/P is great at dealing damage. S/P not so much.

effervescent knows what he is talking about. I would just like to add on what improves healing. First off the two main determiners in how much you heal are magic damage and healing bonus. Wisdom adds some to your heal, but it is almost nothing. If you fully wisdom stat at endgame vs fully stam stat you will see about a 3k difference in your gh. Which, in my opinion is not worth it for the loss of survivability.
