Ice Blade vs IceWind Blade

So right now I am a p/m. No third class yet.
I understand that people go p/s for Ice blade's damage so they can kill mobs alot faster.

I picked Mage second class first for the increased mana pool, but they also have a skill called IceWind blade.

I wanted to see which one is better. I looked at the scaling of them.

IceWind Blade
30 wind damage plus 30 water damage. Per level both damages deal 9 damage more.

Ice Blade
25 points of water damage, 7.5 more damage per level up.

Through simple logic shouldn't IceWind Blade do more damage, thus it can be my farming skill?
Only downsides I can see are the 20 less range and cd of 3 seconds.

IWB has a double hit, both hits can crit, and at the same level with the same gear IWB does more damage that IB.

As P/m you have other skills to weave in so the 3 second cooldown isn't a problem, fireball, bone chill + lightning, then ice wind normally take care of most mobs at level.
P/m in my opinion is a very capable priest for soloing if you're statted for it, I used to run P/m instead of M/p for questing because it was more survivable.

If you are P/M/S, try both and see what you like using best.

Just wanna echo what was said above me. IWB is for sure more powerful, but since you can't spam it IB is more effective. If you plan to PVP then pick up a Scout, but if not, IWB and the handful of other instants P/M gets makes it a very effective solo class.
