Warden/Mage Elite Skill Question

The level 40 elite skill for the warden/mage is called Crystal Protection.

It states: "When your Nature Crystal dies, Received Physical Damage and Received Magical Damage of party members in a range of 100 is reduced by 20.0% for 10.0 seconds."

"When your nature crystal dies."

YOUR NATURE CRYSTAL CAN'T DIE. o.O

"It is immune to all attacks while active but cannot use any attack skills."

o.O Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this yet...I will be getting the elite soon so I will be able to tell for sure if it truly doesn't work since they tacked on the immunity to the Nature Crystal.

Not sure where you got your skill description from, but it's two chapters out-of-date. The actual skill description is:

"Orders your Nature Crystal to protect team members with its shards..."

Basically, it's now a skill you can use any time while your Crystal is out.
Instant cast, 2 min CD.
Cost no mp... and does not kill your Crystal.

Now whether this is actually useful or not will be up to you... I only use Crystal if I'm traveling (or between bosses) and don't want to worry about a train of mobs when I get to my destination.

The description is from the elite trainers when you ask what skills will be learned for that level. I remember reading the exact same description in CoO. There is a lot of misinformation still being given out by the elite trainers. It isn't till after you get the skills and check the skill book to get the proper identification.

Um, no, actually it's the updated skill description, I got it from the most up to date IP. Two chapters ago the skill was called Crystal Womb.

The in game description of the skill once you get it is different.

The skill description that Purre gave is the actual one on the tooltip for the skill. I'm looking at it right now.

However, the OP's description is really close to what the skill does. The only difference is that your crystal doesn't have to die (obviously). It's just a buff that decreases damage by 20% for 10 seconds within a range of 100 on a 2 minute CD.

Sounds like whoever wrote that description (the one the elite trainer gives?) just got confused and gave a mangled combination of the two different versions of the skill.

I'm the one who wrote the description, I looked up the skill with Item Preview, a database compiler for Runes of Magic, and that is the skill description that came up.

Sorry, I didn't mean you. I meant the developer/translator who put the description into the game. The person who *originally* wrote it is probably a better way to say it. It's basically a mix of the current elite with the old elite. It's funny that IP shows that description though, because the in-game tooltip right now (like I said, I was looking at it on my Wd/M when I last posted) definitely shows the one that purre wrote. Maybe just a bug in IP or else it grabbed its tooltip info from a different screen?

I'm sure what it is is they kept the old skill and then duplicated it and forgot to delete the old one, and the one I chose to copy was the one saying the crystal had to die haha
